eve
I've got a Vax but I tend to just get down on my knees and scrub hard floors. My own fault as I usually leave it too long between cleans so it needs a good scrub as no cleaner could lift the dirt completely
Jazz
lewis got the vanish gold for carpets. just sprinkle it on and hoover it up. worked well on his filthy carpet as I didn't put the dogs in a cupboard, they had no idea what to do. oreo eventually laid on the bed and slept, but dennis was jumpy all night
owl
Eve, I used to get down on knees and scrub floors but am now too decrepit to do very much of that so have to work out a combination of hi tech methods. Turboscrub with plenty of hot water usually gets the worst of it done, but leaves the place awash, hence my new purchase. If I were better organised and did vacuum followed by steamer every single day it would not get so bad. But I am not, and it does.

suzeanna
I must have been lucky, working fine every time I wanted to look at it. We are definitely going up to Scotland for around five days this year, Candy is booked into kennels and we've got two nights b&b in Plockton, and two nights about 3 miles out of Ullapool. What's the betting it'll rain solidly? At least we have both got waterproof trousers and jackets. We feel guilty already about not taking her, but you are rather limited as to where you can eat with a dog in tow, and if it does rain, a soggy dog in the car isn't the best companion! I've not taken any of those vile pills for two weeks now and I'm improving with the walking, so it looks as if it was them. I also got myself some CBD oil drops from a reputable online source and I'm hoping they will help too.
Jazz
you have to do whatever you want to. with pills and holidays I don't think to take the dogs away with me. there again, my holidays are when im in hospital lol facebook is back! hope it stays as im talking to the rescue about the yorkies
owl
Glad you are feeling better, Suzeanna. I am thinking of going to Scotland in June, with dog and tent. I got a pod type sleeping bag the other day in Go Outdoors sale, with enough room to sprawl. Kennels are not an option for Wispa. She can stay with friends for a two or three days but it would inconvenience them if they had her for a week or more. I should be OK if we take the journey in easy steps and make sure we have finished the day's travelling and set up camp by early evening.
owl
We have a swan on the reserve who did not look at all right this evening. Plodding slowly around on grass, very lethargic. I have just been told it was there this morning doing the same. I will get back there in the morning and if no better I will seek advice from one of our rangers who is good with waterfowl. Best to leave Wispa at home, just in case I end up transporting the bird to swan hospital.

griff
Hope the swan is o.k Owl, one of ours got ran over and the other seems so sad Next door have been parking on my drive so my Asian neighbour parked on our side to stop them..she moved her car back to her own side this morning and the horrible side parked on the drive... again, so dad went out! The guy was trying to say that the land registry showed he owned our driveway, I said I could show him the deeds...he said no to begin with and then he said could I get them? So he must have thought I was lying...I came in, produced the solicitor Letter and land registry deed plan for all 4 properties...he was quite surprised I think, dad said you were sold the house with vehicle access to garage only...he said he didn't know!! Who buys a house with out reading the property description...it was listed with the bedrooms etc. Hopefully that's an end to it but I doubt it Edited April 15, 2019 by griff
Yantan
I hope so Griff. His solicitor would/should have pointed this out to him at the time of purchase, it's a particularly important bit about access rights! Next door has the kitchen fitters in. The noise hasn't been bad (so far at least) When she was telling me they would be coming in I asked how long they'd be. She said a week. It's a fecking galley kitchen so I asked if she was sure. Also it's Good Friday this week and I doubt they will be working. I also pointed out to her that our kitchen which is 2.5 times the size of hers only took 3 days to fit. I don't think she asked how long it would take and was just guessing. Wonder if they've found any rats?!
suzeanna
Some people make me mad! The couple over the road have six kids, eldest about 11 and the youngest twins are toddling age. A few years back they had 2 GSD's, didn't last long as they were reported for the dogs barking constantly, so dogs vanished. Now they've got another young GSD..also barking all the time...and their next door neighbour who lives opposite me told me that it's not allowed in the house, it lives in the side passageway. I've never seen it being walked.. Poor little devil is probably bored to death. I did check with the RSPCA and there's nothing they can do as it presumably has food and water. That'll be chucked out in a few months no doubt, by which time it'll be untrainable, unsocialised and not likely to get a home.
