Specialist orthopaedic vet called to say Tess has three compressed vertebrae at the base of her neck, pressing on her spinal cord. On a scale of severity from 1-5 she is a 3-4. He wants to keep her in for 24-48 hours on pain killers to see how she goes. She's not a candidate for surgery so the way forward is either crate rest and painkillers, or if her quality of life is not good enough then it's time to consider pts. He is not giving up on her but says not to get my hopes up. He recommends I don't visit as he thinks it will upset her, and me, and he doesn't want her trying to move or getting stressed.

I will do a separate post asking for Reiki when I get home tonight, but if anyone is reading this RMF thread and does Reiki, would you please send some healing her way? :mecry:

I know when you have oldies (she is 14) you are always looking at a shortened time with them, but she is my soul dog. I just can't bear to lose her yet.

So sorry it wasn't better news, but there's still hope Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif

The op was on my arm bone where it meets the shoulder. I had a tumour which needed taking out. Not making me sick now but acting in a suspicious manner and making the doctors nervous

I now have a 6 ish inch long plate over the hole so will have fun going through airports in future

Ouchy, glad you're on the mend :flowers:

:GroupHug: for Tess

Thanks for the good thoughts for my hurty shoulder :flowers: The pain went down my arms yesterday,,but surprisingly, today I am a lot better . I have been doing a bit of pottering in the garden this evening, blimey those plants grow quick! Trying not to overdo things though.

Almost forgot to mention the man I met earlier tonight when I took Jack and Cherry out into the gated entry where they can go offlead. He would not believe that Jack was totally blind and couldn't see at all. Not anything, not even a bit, nowt. "How is he walking if he can't see?" he asked. Well that would be something to do with having LEGS wouldn't it?

Hope all went well Amy - I'd imagine having a mad dog to groom would take your mind off being watched.

I am very chuffed  I've been working very hard on our annual pension statements which go out next month, both in terms of content and presentation. Our pensions communications peeps said I should enter them for an industry award

RMQ why do I forget that cooking things like lasagne and moussaka involve cooking other stuff (and lots of dirty pans) rather than just 45 mins in the oven in one pot. Doh

It wasnt too bad she watched whilst I brushed Rod out and removed the matts from his fluffy knickers. She asked a few questions took a couple of pics of Rod on the table and went on her merry way. Rod is a nightmare dog in the bath so I was glad she decided to leave before that point. Fair dos to him though this is the third time Ive groomed him and this was the best hes been in the bath. He's scared of water so keeping him in is usually a mammouth task. Took a couple of videos on my phone of him playing with Louie after but cant get it to send to my email which is annoying.

I received another text via my landline from ex and got cross, so phoned his sister with the intention of playing merry hell as in why am I getting all this carp when he has family. Guess what, we've both been played for fools by the manipulative b*stard, for example Minke has no food...........I trot round with a 15kg bag and his sister puts £20 in his bank account - he also told her that I'd demanded Minke back and was going to snatch her. I've tried to ring Virgin to get my landline changed but the systems are down so have just pulled the plug. The least I can do for Minke is to try and get her back here, safe and looked after but only if I can get an injunction to keep him away. I really don't need or want this...........it's been over 2 years and I want it to end.

All that worrying for nothing with the council.

Rods bath time issues brings back memories of me letting Whoppity the Foxhound cross Wolfhound go in the Jaccuzi. He went out of the window and hit the floor running and completed a lap of the fields.

He is still a lunatic albeit a much older one.

He left you alone for a while so whats changed that you are the focus of his attention again.

If Minke is away from him he wont have any hold over you.Its not nice having a nutty ex and I feel for you.

Basically he's now really scarey barking mad and I'm back on the radar, I've kept my head down and not initiated any contact and tried to ignore as many messages as possible but as everyone else is now ignoring him and I'm near I'm the focus. If Minke was with me he would think it quite OK and normal to call on me at any time he wanted, to say hello, possibly to walk her, anything, but Minke being here would, in his mind, be a totally valid reason to turn up at 3 in the morning and I would be unreasonable to tell him to feck off as we were all asleep and I had to get up to go to work.

Didnt you try to get him treatment before ? Is he on any medication ?

I think you need to get some back up before he really tunes into you. He is obviously manipulative but hopefully his doctor etc will have read him right.

You need help to make it clear in a way that he understands there is repercussions for his behaviour. I had a female stalker and it was only when she was arrested that she actually got it.I had one great police officer who went beyond the call of duty to stop what was happening.Scarily she wanted to be me and I get that your one wants to be with you but sometimes any attention from you fills the need. If the attention comes from someone else it will stop him when he finally gets it.

I have great empathy for you with someone overshadowing your life but you have to take that step to get help. Being quiet and compliant wont get you any help.
