Hope you are feeling better soon Abby. Was it the op on your shoulder

I am just back from the emergency vets. When I got in from work tonight Tess collapsed and was screaming in pain. She may have a slipped disk in her neck. She's on a morphine drip tonight and is being x-rayed in the morning. I hate being apart from her :(

If anyone has any good thoughts going spare for my old girl tonight, I would surely appreciate them.

Sorry aboiut Tess, hope she gets sorted soon, she's such a pretty girl

The op was on my arm bone where it meets the shoulder. I had a tumour which needed taking out. Not making me sick now but acting in a suspicious manner and making the doctors nervous

I now have a 6 ish inch long plate over the hole so will have fun going through airports in future :ohmy:

I am snaffling minty chocolate even though I'm in bed and should be going to sleep

So sorry to hear about Matty :GroupHug:

Lots of good thoughts for Tess :GroupHug: It's so hard to be separated from them when they are poorly.

Abby :flowers: :flowers: :flowers: you are a brave lady. A 6 inch plate - you are practically bionic.

Sandra, I know what you mean. I did a few hours a week cleaning for someone at one time. I was happy to tidy up after the adults who were working all day or the kids who were at school, but there were 2 sons 19 and 21 who did not work or study and I really resented being expected to clean their rooms and pick up after them. I thought they should have done at least that much themselves instead of lounging about all day. Little princes, eh?

We have been cuckoo-spotting. Male cuckoo sat on a wire just above us in the morning, then in the evening the female flew over us very close, chirruping. I had never heard or seen a female before.

Morning :tired:

I've just had all my Daisy worries put very firmly into perspective, an old friend was found dead in his flat today, Matty was a lovely kind person, loved his dogs and soul music, don't know what the circumstances are yet, a very sad loss mecry.gif

:GroupHug:I am so sorry to hear that

Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif for the lovely Tess, hope she's on the mend soon.

Had the dogs out at 7 this morning, it gets so warm that Ben can't deal with walking in the heat, it was still pretty warm even at that time, Daisy is doing incredibly well with the muzzle, but I'm going to find something better than the Baskerville, not impressed with it at all.

I'll be away to Selkirk this evening so need to fumigate the car, get packed, do some washing, and kill the fly thats buzzing round my head.

I've sent myself home from work since there was no one else there to do it  I have a heck of a headache over my left eye and felt quite sick with it ( I don't get migraines and rarely get headaches) added to it being that time of the month and I feel rather blurrrrggg :( I'm now going to lay down in a darkened room and hope the ibruprofen kicks in.

Specialist orthopaedic vet called to say Tess has three compressed vertebrae at the base of her neck, pressing on her spinal cord. On a scale of severity from 1-5 she is a 3-4. He wants to keep her in for 24-48 hours on pain killers to see how she goes. She's not a candidate for surgery so the way forward is either crate rest and painkillers, or if her quality of life is not good enough then it's time to consider pts. He is not giving up on her but says not to get my hopes up. He recommends I don't visit as he thinks it will upset her, and me, and he doesn't want her trying to move or getting stressed.

I will do a separate post asking for Reiki when I get home tonight, but if anyone is reading this RMF thread and does Reiki, would you please send some healing her way? :mecry:

I know when you have oldies (she is 14) you are always looking at a shortened time with them, but she is my soul dog. I just can't bear to lose her yet.

 Am wondering about families... my Uncle is very poorly with cancer and the whole family decided to go away to a cottage. Nice but it had a spiral staircase which Aunt & Uncle's dog Barney wouldn't go up so............

my Aunt  had to carry him!!!! She has two sons who are both fit and healthy, yet they allowed her to struggle with Barney (not so bad if he was tiny but he is a lab)  Not only that but they didn't even help my Aunt pack at the end of the week. I would have been livid......am I unreasonable??

No your not, sounds very selfish
