December's Ooh My Back, My Belly And My Two Sides

We get plenty of pipes here. The pipe band parade every week in the summer.

They play at all the summer shows.

Our local Burns Supper has the haggis piped in. Last year it was teenage girl who did it.

Had a lovely bright day to day.with some sunshine.

I have cleaned and cleaned- hoovered, dusted, polished and steam cleaned floor and done several washes in between.

Bet I regret it tomorrow!

Suzeanna, it is most unusual to have a raven in the garden. You were fortunate.

We had a bbq and outdoor party in the woods for the reserve volunteers. It was sunny and not too cold. Wispa got a short walk on the reserve first and a long run afterwards. I doubt if she will get one tomorrow as heavy rain all day is forecast.

Awwwww how lovely Owl, what a nice way to spend the day

I am fuming.....rung the drs earlier asking for antivirals, told call about 4...I called early...no, not done, call after 5, I explained to the lady why I need them today, called back..no not done, I asked will it be today? She said maybe... can't guarantee it! It's a side effect of my medication, I have 1 cold sore on my lip and another 3 about to come out, I had them all over my face before and the scars are still really visible 2 years on...nice to have a scar the size of a 50p on your cheek that is so noticeable as the skin is pure white, I need to find a different practice, my one, I have been with for 36years... it's gone right down the pan

Aw how annoying Griff, hope you got them in the end.

Red Hot Chilli Pipers aren't just pipers. There's drums, keyboards, saxaphone, trumpet, guitars, dancers and a singer - the whole works, though I didn't much like the singer. The overall gig was brilliant though. And they don't just do heederum, hoderum stuff, they do contemporary music too.

Sounds like a lovely afternoon Owl, glad Wispa enjoyed herself too.

I put my tree up today - looks pathetic at the moment so I'll redo it in daylight. Maybe not tomorrow as I have homechecks to do most of the day. For cats that have been rescued from a hoarder, over 40 of them taken away. I'm not a cat expert so hope I get it right. Some family members are though so they've given me advice.

I think the main thing with cats is that they are kept indoors or very securely outdoors or they'll leg it! Also if there have been a lot of them, I doubt they know what a litter tray is for. We were lucky with Candy, she was from a house hoarding dogs and I honestly didn't expect her to be housetrained, but she was. In just over two years we've never had an accident from her. Are they all adult cats, or are there kittens?

Griff, couldn't you have rung the local pharmacist directly and asked them if they could give you something and the prescription would be there tomorrow? Or don't they work like that? Our surgery has changed dramatically since the two senior doctors retired/relocated, and not for the better but they send scrips directly to whichever pharmacy you want.

A doctor or a qualified person needs to sign the prescription. Our practice nurse can prescribe and has done it for us when a doctor hasn't had time to sign one. prescription.

We get our medicines from the surgery but Jim has tog et a prescription for one of his eye drops. They are prescribed by the hospital but our surgery cannot get them from their suppliers so he has to order them in town and take the prescription in there to get them. They don't stock them but can order them in.

It sounds like a good afternoon. Owl. It is good to have something enjoyable in winter sunshine.

I have a small fibre optic tree up and a wreath for the front door. I gave my tree and two large boxes of decorations to the charity shop. W e are away for Christmas so not much point in a big tree.

The cats are all ages Suzeanna, with lots of inter breeding. So many sweet looking little munchkins. My Honey and Cooper were taken from a hoarder too and had no experience of life outside of a house. Taking them for their first walk was 'interesting' to say the least - leaping, screaming banshees best describes it lol. But they were so worth the work in turning them round. You can't underestimate the benefits of early socialisation which they missed out on for the first year of their lives so I think Cooper, especially, will always be a bit nervy and hyper vigilant when out. They are good with other animals though, so that's one benefit I guess.

Suzeanna, usually I would do that but I wasn't sure if they would sign the script, I still don't know if it's done

My cat used to go out....I stopped him a few years ago as I got worried when he slowed down

Mums friend has been told to prepare for the worst with her husband, I have had a mad dash over to her house to pick up a key in case I need to pop in and feed their gorgeous rough collie puppy

I know a fair bit about cats having had a gang of 7 at one time and as an officer of a local animal rescue I used to go out on rescues, trappings and home checks as well as helping to care for the rescues in the cattery. I acted as midwife on a few occasions and fed many orphan kittens.

It's absolutely chucking it down here, most unpleasant.

Sounds like a grand day yesterday Owl.

Our GP medical centre service standards have slipped since they had to absorb the only other practice in town. One of the two doctors there retired and the remaining doctor couldn't find a new partner. There used to be 3 practices not that long ago.

Griff have you managed to get your prescription?

Talking of scripts I must say that I am impressed with the online pharmacy that delivers my monthly prescription. They are never late and my medications have always been present and correct. Ruby has started using them too after yet another mess-up by Boots.

The rain here is torrential. The wind is blowing down the back lane so when you are in the kitchen it sounds fabulous but I have to don my waterproofs shortly and brave it to bring the wheelie bins back. I've been putting off but if I leave it much longer they will either disappear or get filled with someone else's crap.

No Yantan....I didn't, I can't be bothered anymore... if I end up covered in them or in a real mess, maybe they will take notice next time.

Steve has just called, his bil has just called, his uncle died yesterday, suspected heart attack..one good thing to come out of Tony's death is that finally Steve and his sister are in touch....he hasn't seen her since June I think
