December Ding Dongs (Merilly On High)

Thanks guys, I didn't think it was a big deal either, apparently it was  I seem to remember this time last year we all fell out too! Was just having a little cry when the man came to read my meters. Turns out the gas meter wasn't the one his computer said he should be reading, which could explain my high bills  Am not holding my breath, but my bills might come down :)

I have also been shamed into tidying the cupboard where the gas meter was. It had loads of flyball rosettes in there as well as jumpers and collars etc.

Think am just being over sensitive at the moment to everything, as mum has bought gran and grandad a tea tray where she is putting pictures of all the family on it. All the couples have their own square for a picture, whereas I am on my own :mecry: I just hate being alone at this time of year.

I never look on it as being alone more of being happily untrapped.

I think I said previously that was what happened with mine. Look at your gas bill and see if they are charging you in imperial or metric units. If they are charging you in imperial units, then they are likely to be overcharging you as your new meter is probably metric (it will say on the meter). It will make quite a difference to your bills!

Gooster, not all the people who appear to be having a happy family christmas are really all that happy...Relate say after Christmas and after a summer holiday are their busiest times! Just tell yourself you have a higher standard than some in your family when it comes to relationships  Just looked at your age...I never thought my son would ever settle down, motor bikes were his love, but when he was mid thirties he met a girl when he was working in Scotland, he ran but she ran faster  and now he's married and became a dad at the grand old age of 41...you're far from on the shelf!

Thanks guys :flowers:

I guess it's just hard when all my friends are settling down and getting married and having kids, it just makes me think I'm an odd one out. On the outside, I suppose people must think I have a great life, own house, nice car, horse etc. What they don't realise is how lonely it can be coming back to an empty house (dogs live at mum and dad's house), and how hard it is to motivate myself to go out and socialise once I have been yo farm to sort Blue out! I doubt am going to find someone hidden under a pile of hay whilst stuffing haynets!

Anyway, enough with all woe is me, Christmas is supposed to be a happy time, you don't want read about my moans :)

:GroupHug: Jayne, I never thought I would find someone I'd want to actually be with but they come along when you least expect it. However I would enjoy the time you have being single because it is the best time! No one to answer to, no one to clean up after, don't have to hold in your farts, dont have to share your booze or chocolate, you don't have to behave when you go out and the TV is all yours

RMF I never made it to the shops, the post office put me in a foul mood, I WILL go tomorrow

There's a lot to be said for being on your own Jayne. I have vowed that I will never ever be in a relationship again - given my past experiences it's far too much hassle and I'm much happier on my own with my boys wub.gif

RMF 1 : Spag bol for tea, nom nom. The dogs have had some as well.

RMF 2 : No more work for ages biggrin.gif

Are you feeling better Owl, got rid of the aching joints? I hope your girl has a peaceful night with no fits, I used to have a little pom who had them regularly, they just got worse and worse as she got older, but the reassuring thing is they were more worrying for me to watch than for her to have...if you see what I mean. :flowers:

Evening. Booked tomorrow off work as absolutely kernackered. Dad has made small improvements each day. Can now drink and eat by himself (after a fashion). Can hardly move otherwise but they're getting him out into a chair for a while now. All sounding positive as his doc says op has been successful and he will have full use of his arms, hands and legs again. It's just going to be a long haul. Haven't gone in to see him today but will be back there tomorrow.

Sorry to hear Polly is still having fits. Hope the medication helps her soon :GroupHug:

I lived alone quite happily for years Jayne and met Martyn out of the blue at the age of 33. I'm fine with my own company though and I know not everyone is. It is true though that when you're least looking for someone they suddenly turn up.

The aching joints are a bit better thanks, an unbroken night's sleep last night helped. Polly has had one fit today so that is better than yesterday, and of course she hasn't been on the medication long. Vet says we may have to adjust dosage so we are seeing him again in a couple of weeks but sooner if the fits continue.

Glad to hear your dad is improving, Michelle.

Pleased you're feeling better Phebe and hope the fits continue to lessen for Polly :GroupHug:

Stepmum has just phoned with very good news. Dad was complaining of pain in his left hand today so the feeling is coming back on that side.

I found out that I passed the exam today. Took me by surprise as wasn't supposed to find out until 8th January. Nice early Xmas present and now have 2 levels out of the way.
