Thinking of Angela and Buzz :GroupHug:

Spent the weekend camping in Wales - I climbed Snowdon yesterday. My legs are goosed now. I really wish I still had a fit active dog, it would have been a lovely weekend with a little dog pootling at my feet. Back at work tomorrow now though

Owl i am so sorry...i missed Buzz...of course, good wishes are sent his way and really hope his op goes well

Jayne, do you have a small local rescue...not a ,massive dogs trust type thing but maybe they would allow you to "borrow a dog" for the weekend, i have just spent the past 3 mondays helping to train a gorgeous boy who belonged to the gypsies, he is going to meet his new family today and i hope he leaves the kitties alone Lol. i have found it very rewarding and i have decided that one monday a month i will leave my dog at home and take a rescue to class instead

Jazz my meds were making me ill. I've now gone from taking 24 tablets a day to 6. In some ways I am much better but my immune system has been compromised and there are some days when I struggle but I also have many good days when I can go great guns.

I'm glad you had a nice weekend Gooster. It is a lot nicer being out and about in the countryside with a dog or two at your side.

Griff that sounds wonderful what you are doing for that dog . You go girl!

Our nearest rescue, where I could go to help walk their dogs, is a 50 mile round trip so not something I could commit to on a very regular basis. Fortunately they are a very well supported rescue and have a lot of volunteers.

Maybe Angela will prove the medics wrong.

Hope Buzz is recovering after his op.

A weekend in the country sounds great and yes a dog to accompany you makes it much better.

Griff, are you helping out a rescue? Getting some training will make a dog more adoptable.

Some vets seem to charge a large amount for cruciate repair. Cleo's cost £1800 for the orthopaedic specialist who did TPLO, which I thought was reasonable for a 28kg dog and the specialist care she received. That included three nights hospital care with 24 hour staff at £17 each night. There were also two xrays by my own vet in addition.

I am not helping out as such..i go to training with my dogs and the lady who does the class runs a rescue, as my dads car was broke I couldn't take my own dog so offered to have a rescue...i will now do an hours training each month with one of the rescue dogs...not a lot but every little helps

Jazz, have a word with your pharmacist..they will most likely know which drug is most likely to cause the dizziness

Helllloooo to everyone i have missed...worn out, met my cousin, came back, took the dogs out and then went to the vets...finally sat down with a coffee

Astonishing improvement today. Angela sitting up in bed and looking bright as a button, I am told. Has lost voice but can form words, oxygen mask in the way. Understanding everything and communicating with gestures. Hospital staff are amazed.

Buzz has had a small plastic ball removed from his digestive system. It did not do him any damage apart from blocking the system. He should be ok now. He does not have a ball small enough to swallow, so maybe some child threw it into garden by accident.

Excellent news for both patients, Owl. I hope things progress well with Angela, it does sound very promising.

My daughter's friend is not going to be so lucky, Amanda phoned this afternoon for a chat and said Gerry can barely eat, can't move her legs and is struggling for breath. The doctors want her to go into hospital in Volos, but she said no, she wants to die at home. Her brother died at the beginning of the year and his widow is helping with Gerry's care, what a nightmare for them. On a lighter note, the brother Nick died in Alonissos when they were up their ears in snow, couldn't be moved for a week. When they eventually got to the tiny church with him rolled in a blanket on the back of a landrover, they had to wait for the priest to rush back and find a key, then they realised there wasn't a coffin. Hasty gallop to someone who provided one but...they couldn't get the lid on because he was too tall for it and his feet were hanging out! Apparently everyone was is in hysterics and his wife said he'll be creased up laughing somewhere! Sounds about right for Greece. Hopefully Gerry will have a more dignified send off.

What astonishing news about Angela - fantastic!

Glad Buzz is sorted too :)

Suzeanna talk about what a way to go.

I'm about to take Archie out and then come back and have a shower & wash my hair. No point in doing so beforehand as it's piddling down and I'll only come back looking like a drowned rat. I just hope the humidity has broken from yesterday as it was most unpleasant.
