Sophie
Snow, baddie is  We're having a quiet weekend. I'm trying to think of somewhere dry-ish we can take the dogs to let them off for a run, but I'm drawing a blank. It's 3 years yesterday that we said goodbye to Sophie, so I've been having a look back at old photos and remembering some good times
griff
just looked at who underwrites the insurance for the coop and it is allianz.... who also underwrite for petplan
blackmagic
Snow, Petplan will only insure him on the essential policy if he is 8 years old so only £3000 per condition for 12 months. Jazz seems to good experience with Morethan My two are with Axa but I am expecting a hike in the premiums when the are due for renewal. I am stuck with Cleo as she had TPLO last year and if the other cruciate went- 60% chance according to specialist- it would be considered an existing condition for a new insurance company. Pet insurance is a nightmare
gooster
Ours are insured with Tesco, they have been quick to pay out for Charlie's TPLO and vestibular, as well as Ted's tummy and spinal tumour. The only thing I will say is that we only have basic cover of £2500, which isn't enough. However there are better policies out there that they do. We also don't have to pay a percentage of the claim once they get to a certain age Another good insurer is NFU, I have Blue insured with them and they have a really good reputation with vets for being quick and easy to deal with. They are reasonable for Blue's insurance - not sure how much it would be for a dog though. I might have persuaded mum and dad not to do the whole garden centre thing today I said to them last night that I was bored of doing that every weekend and we should try something different. I suggested bowling, which went down well, so hopefully we will be going bowling this afternoon

gooster
Thanks - dad has invited my brother and his GF along (and me and my brother's GF aren't the best of friends), but despite that am sure it will be better than going to the usual garden centre for a brew

gooster
Hmm, I spoke too soon. Had an argument with mum this morning. Had to take the dogs swimming on my own (although it ended up just being Amber who went as they 'couldn't find Charlie' I got back from swimming and mum apologised, but she had still put me in a right foul mood (which to be fair I don't do being in a bad mood very often, it takes a lot to piss me off). Me in a foul mood + brother's GF = bad combination, so I have come home to spend some time alone and make my bad mood go away
griff
Awww sorry to hear your mum upset you, hope your mood brightens rant alert coming up... you have been warned lol!!! we sent one of our neighbours some flowers yesterday as she has pancreatic cancer and is dying, she is such a nice kind lady who has always been lovely to me... her daughter and son in law knocked my door this morning with a card to say thanks. apparently her mum had had a rotten night but kept looking at the flowers which cheered her up... i got to meet a lovely guide dog puppy too, the only awful bit was hearing their neighbours are giving them a hard time still, tom and joans (my friends) fence blew down in the wind, it will get sorted but obviously tom has joan to look after and she doesn't need workmen about..... there is no issue with dogs so i don't see the problem in waiting a little bit to get the fence replaced.... i am a real nasty s*d but even i am not that inconsiderate! their neighbours constantly bully people a lady with MS was a previous victim over her trees and tree roots... when she refused to cut her trees down he ran to the insurance company and demanded they replaced his drive... of course the trees then had to be cut down so the damage couldn't be repeated..... he tried it with me over a car on MY drive... needless to say the car is still there 2 years on and i will leave it there for as long as i can... my blood is really boiling, the lady is dying and that prat still keeps on, i hope i don't see him as i won't hold my temper like joans daughter. I spoke to joan on the phone today and despite everything she is going through she is still happy and laughing, i have said i will pop in and see her one day and i will ensure i use the front entrance and turn up with something really nice that her awful neighbours see... sorry for the long rant but i really can't believe what i have heard today....unbelievable! gooster
He sounds like a right piece of work Griff some people just have nothing better to do with their lives than stir sh1t and upset people Am feeling a bit better now - I am trying to bake Caribbean cookies. They have my Cuban rum and coconut in, so should be quite nice
griff
oooooo they sound nice Gooster..... if they turn out lush post the recipe..... i could probably whack my mums fake malibu in them Lol he really is a piece of work, he came knocking my door when my nan was dying saying that where my dad had parked his sports car made it difficult for him to get onto his drive.... dad had parked a distance away from his drive in the communal parking and you could have got a bus in there no bother... he kept on and on and i explained my nan was dying my dad wasn't here i didn't know when he would get back etc and then he came out with "ask him as a favour to me"!!!!!! my dad wouldn't give the bloke the time of day let alone a favour Lol..... still he kept going on and i had just got back from Chemo so i didn't need the grief...... i just told him i would ask and shut the door on him, next day imagine my surprise to see his sons car parked in exactly the same way! you are very right he does like to stir things up, well i think he has just opened a whole can of worms with me... picking on a dying woman and her husband is just plain wrong

griff
oooooooooooooooooooooo they look yummy...... i think i have everything except lime marmalade and desiccated coconut hmmm wonder if i could tweak it a bit Dakota has snapped off one of her puppy canines i think... wonder if thats why she has been off her food, her breath pongs a bit too, she will be o.k when her other tooth is ready to come through won't she? i am pretty sure it was her puppy tooth, just had to sit and work out when i can get her spay booked, take her to the vet next week and she should be able to get done a week after that, she is 5 months already! i only thought she was 4 1/2 months, she is tiny still..... she only weighs about 9 kilos and is really diddy compared to dies at that age
gooster
I didn't use the lime marmalade either - I don't like it, so did without. My shop across the road sells desiccated coconut, it was £1.39 for 150g box your local shop might have it if you are up to a trip out I would keep a watch on Dakota's tooth, she will probably be fine, but I know that when Charlie snapped a tooth, he had to have it removed as the vet was worried it might get infected. However this was one of his grown up front teeth at the bottom, so there was nothing that was going to grow and replace it so there was a higher chance of it getting infected.
