  1. Good luck snow! Hope it all goes well.
  2. morning jazz I'm working from home today as car is in for new brake pads, and I have a dr appointment later.
  3. Think there must be something about the recent weather that aggravates migraines - both me and my dad have been bad this week, and normally when we both have a migraine at the same time it is because of weather pressure changes. Hope yours bogs off soon Yantan Jayne I can sympathise. Morse isn't getting any younger (he turned 15 in September). If he were my dog, he'd be on strong pain killers for his arthritis, but my mum doesn't like them due to the fact they can cause liver/kidney issues if used long term. I'm of the opinion it should be quality over quantity, especially given his age, but can't force her He's happy enough though, and still enjoys a short potter round. He's reminding me more and more of Sophie in her last few months. Wish they could live forever.
  4. Was it myfitnesspal yantan? Way smaller scale, but I've put on 10lbs since I changed my migraine meds and it is frustrating, so really feel for you griff Glad your internet woes are sorted yantan. Glad Timmy is home with you Alex. Hope he continues to improve. I'm in Canada at the moment. It hasn't been too cold for met of the week, but today it dropped to -18C (-30 with windchill) which is bloody freezing. Am missing my dogs and looking forward to seeing them again on Monday.
  5. Happy New Year! I also had an early one last night. Woke up at midnight when Logan barked at the fireworks, but he settled down again as soon as I told him too Tis chilly out there this morning
  6. Snow, glad you're feeling a bit better today - hope it stays that way Yantan, glad to hear you haven't flooded, but how upsetting for all those who have Griff, hope you're feeling better soon Nice sofa Alex I've managed to get quite a lot done this weekend - rearranged the furniture in the bedroom, caught up on the filing (hadn't been done since May!), transformed two beanbags and an empty dog bed cover into half a bean bag and a filled dog bed (plus a lot of polystyrene balls everywhere!), and had several decent walks with the dogs. On this afternoons walk we went somewhere new-ish, and met up with my mum and Morse and Buzz. Kia and Buzz had great fun running around and got absolutely filthy - Logan was on lead much to his disgust. Unfortunately there seems to have been some sort of irritant in either the ground or the lake, as since we got back both Kia and Buzz have been chewing at their feet and frantically digging at the carpet They've both had a bath and a piriton, and Kia has just managed to settle down after an hour of upset. We won't be walking there again any time soon.
  7. Good news for Basil Sorry to hear about Butter That sucks Yantan Hope you can get your books transferred to your tablet without too much hassle. I have this afternoon off to try to catch up with some phoning around I need to do. Taking the plunge and cancelling my guys insurance, as I'm paying more than £100 a month now which is just too much. I have enough saved up to cover most things, so going to self-insure by stashing the money I'm paying for insurance now into a saving account for the dogs.
  8. Aw, poor Kota. Hope she isn't too traumatised You sound very organised blackmagic. I haven't started Christmas shopping yet :s also have three birthdays to buy for in the two weeks around Christmas, so better get a move on I think.
  9. Yeah, I work in a pretty male dominated area (software development) - never had a problem before. And go owl - quite right too. In my situation it hasn't been anything quite that blatant, which has had the disadvantage of making me wonder if I've overreacted. The guy is basically infatuated with me, and has become obsessed with the idea that I'm in a relationship with someone else in the office (which I am not). But he was bothering me with messages on skype (which we use for work so have to be on) demanding to know what was going on, and I told him once that nothing was going on but it was none of his business anyway. He kept messaging me until I told him very bluntly to stop, and I stopped signing into skype when I wasn't at work. He did stop for a few weeks, but then he somehow managed to track down my reddit account and started messaging me on there. He also has a tendency to storm out of the office in tears if I talked to the colleague he thinks I'm involved with, which makes it somewhat difficult to do my job as I need to interact with both of them. As it was happening to a certain extent out of work, and was all just messages and nothing directly happening I wasn't sure if I was overreacting. But I decided whatever his intentions he was making me feel very uncomfortable. Thankfully nothing from him since I told him I'd take it to HR if he didn't stop immediately, and I think he's going to be moved to a different office so won't have to interact with him directly as much in the future. Feel much better about it now, plus my sister is over in a couple of weeks and will kick his ass for me if required She had a similar situation a couple of years ago, except in her case the guy proceeded to slash her tires and send her threatening letters, so she's very keen that this stops now. I was going to take the dogs out on the bike, but I've decided I can't be bothered - they're not agitating and its cold out there.
  10. Morning. Griff, sorry to hear you're poorly, but it sounds like you're consultant is on top of it - fingers crossed you get it under control quickly Jazz - is you're foster another yorkie? Yantan, take care of yourself - I hope the ankle mends quickly Sam, how is your ear healing up from the dog bite? Last week was much better than the one before. The guy I'm having issues with was out all week (off sick due to this), which helped. And I found out that someone else is aware of what is going on and has already raised it with H.R, which makes me feel less like I'm going crazy / making too much of the situation. Logan's ear isn't healing quite right - I think I might need to take him back to the vet for another check on it. On the plus side, I decided he would probably be ok playing ball so long as he kept his hat on, so he's happy again. All Logan asks of life is an orange chuckit ultra ball and the chance to play fetch The last F1 race of the year today, so think I'll watch that this afternoon - it looks like the right sort of day for hibernating.
  11. No snow here but it is very chilly out Yantan, sorry to hear your holiday hasn't gone to plan - I hope the journey home is a smooth one and that your sore bits aren't too achey Griff - what everyone else said It hasn't been a great week here. Logan hurt his foot to go along with his ear, and the constant need to hibiscrub the foot or check on his ear ended up with him reverting back to how he used to be when I first adopted hime and he wouldn't let me near him. Ran away whenever I entered the room with his tail tucked under, and was generally just miserable. Thankfully he had his stitches out on Thursday and I've managed to make friends with him again although he's still a bit wary. I've also been stressed about an issue with someone at work. I've ended up having to threaten to report him for sexual harassment - very much hoping that does the trick and he leaves me alone.
  12. Hope the queries can be sorted quickly so you can get moving owl - sounds like the new house will be perfect for you Griff, good that the eye are ok, but I guess worrying that you still don't know what is causing the headache. Hopefully you get to the bottom of it soon Last night did not go to plan. Let the dogs out for a wee at 9pm, Logan came in first and I took my eye off him for 10 seconds while I got Kia in. I have no idea how he did it, but when I turned around his ear was out of the bandages I had a bit of a panicked 5 minutes which involved throwing most of the contents of the medicine drawer around the living room, then managed to bodge something together. Had a stressful night though - kept waking up to check that his ear was still contained. Had one panicky moment when I thought it wasn't, only to realise the dogs had switched spaces on the bed and I was checking a rather unimpressed Kia's ears out. Am knackered this morning so may see if I can take a days leave from work so I can sleep and sort out proper bandages.
  13. I had a bay tree in my old house. I loved the smell when I trimmed it. Logan is home and feeling sorry for himself. Wish I could explain that it is to help him and will get better.
  14. Morning. Glad to hear dakota is feeling better. Gentle for Archei and Timmy. Logan has been dropped off for the vet - he was a bit pathetic and not happy about having his heart listened to or his temperature taken, so hopefully he is a bit more cooperative for them later. WFH today so I can pick Logan up early if needed.
