January's Jolly Jeunesse

Moaning :tired:

Jayne - I haven't tried anything for the shoulder but I will go to the docs if it doesn't get better over the next few days or if it recurs.

Snow - sorry the news isn't better but glad he's feeling slightly better. When Max's bone marrow stopped producing red blood cells he had a couple of blood transfusions, so maybe that's something to consider (not sure whether it would be appropriate or not). He was referred to the university hospital in Wirral and the one thing I would say is that if Nog is referred then he will probably be able to see a specialist rather than a generalist (rather like you or me being referred to a specialist by our GP) and they will have access to the latest equipment/techniques. I would have no hesitation in getting one of mine referred if they needed it.

Just want to send you a :GroupHug: of support Snow. Loads of positive thoughts being sent for Nog :wub_anim:

Alex don't mess about with your shoulder and see a doctor. I've had my hurty shoulder for 26 years now and if I hadn't have ignored it in the first few years I might not have had all these years of misery with the bloody thing.

I am back to being just as breathless and wheezy as I was before seeing the doctor. Not a good day to be like that as I have Archie to walk and I am participating in the big garden birdwatch later. It is absolutely tipping it down here and I don't want to go out :(

Rob and I have been talking this morning - we can have a referral to anywhere we want provided the insurance will agree usually the default from here is Bristol however the hospital Nog was under in Swindon for his leg is also a RCVS specialist referral center, distancewise theres only 20 mile difference and they'd have all Nogs record from his orthopedic surgery etc as he was seeing them for over a year, plus obviously Nick & Vicky still live local so if I need to go away and hang around for hours etc. then I have somewhere I can go or stay overnight if thats needed. If the vet decides surgery is very risky we may instead go for a referral and at least I know those vets very very well and the set up etc. as does Nog.

I used to go and see my osteopath privately - my GP at the time was next to useless and referred me to a physio who was also useless. I had fallen off Blue and knocked my head on a fence, which led to neck pain. My physio wanted me to to 60 exercises per day - I didn't have time for that, so went to see my osteopath - she sorted me out in one visit.

The weather here is pretty bad too - we are off to event city to the destinations show. The Cuban tourist board are there - I might act dumb and ask them what the January weather is like  :ninja:

Positive thoughts for Nog and Snow xx

Alex another one who says get it seen to! I see an osteopath for my neck / shoulder issues but left it originally for a while. It really shocked me when I found out the area that was causing problems at the time could have caused paralysis. But one session can now resolve my issues rather than when I left it till it was a major problem and then I had to have multiple treatments. If you have private health insurance it may cover treatment. Good luck in getting it resolved though.

It is raining it is pouring and I am about to go out in it...but am looking forward to Sunday lunch with my mum and Aunty this afternoon xx

Thanks guys, will go and see my doc this week.

I am feckin' fuming  Just went upstairs and there is water coming in through the ceiling above the bay AGAIN. I paid a grand to have that and the fascias/soffits sorted and I still haven't received the ten year guarantee I was promised, nor have they been out to fix a wonky bit of pipe which he said he would do week before last  Just wish I'd got him to do it properly through the website because I could have left negative feedback but have no comeback now unless I take him to small claims court. That's two tradesmen who were supposed to have sorted the problem and neither of them did

Heard some rustling of the plastic bag type in the kitchen so went to investigate and found a very thin grey and white pusscat trying to scavenge for some food. I gave him some but then Lily came in and frightened him off just by looking at him. His fur is soft and fluffy but dirty and you could tell it hasn't been brushed or stroked in ages. I went outside after him and he miaowed loudly and came back for a cuddle but has now disappeared again. I do hope he comes back so I can take him to the vet to see if he's been chipped or not. He's affectionate but quite nervy if you make any sudden movements.

Snow very sorry to hear Nog is so poorly and fingers crossed for you all

Alex , I am another fan of Osteopaths , I had referred pain from a back problem so bad I thought I was having a heart attack and an Osteopath sorted me out 100 %

Jayne is that a real parrot or a plastic one ? I have spent ages looking at it and I can't decide !

Real one - I was just taking pics of the island when this bloke came and handed me the stick with a parrot on and asked for my camera to take pics. He then gave me my camera back and also had his hand with a load of tip money in it. I don't particularly like animals being used to make money, so I didn't tip him (but I don't have many other options to have my photo taken when I travel alone, so was quite glad he took them if you know what I mean  ).

Have been to the destinations and camping show today at Event City - the Cuban tourist board were there, but the stand was unmanned, but there were books and posters to take away. I got some posters (to look what I could have been looking at if the sun was shining!). I then went to the Thomson shop to hand my holiday voucher in, it was really busy - the girl took the voucher off twice on the computer, but she noticed unfortunately
