Marian, no it isn't you. I don't know whether it is part of her illness or if she has changed but I think Ruby is being very selfish and/or unfeeling. If I lived anywhere near you I'd be first at your door first footing on New Year's Eve cos you is fab. :liebe94:

Marion, it's definitely not you. Sometimes people just don't think. I remember last year over Christmas I was supposed to be going out with a group of friends who I went to school with. Anyway, they all went out without even inviting me and the only way I found out was through Facebook. A couple of months later, I was speaking to another girl who I went to school with, and it turns out she didn't get an invite either. Apparently it was organised by a girl who I didn't know, who they all used to socialise with at college, which was why I hadn't been invited.

I still think it's a bit off that Ruby didn't ask you along though - New Years eve is usually a bit of a free for all, so am sure her friends wouldn't have minded her inviting you :GroupHug: :GroupHug:

Had a really good lesson on Blue today, it had rained all morning, so I was not looking forward to getting wet. Anyway, the rain stopped as we walked up to the school from the yard and he was a really good boy :)

Thanks you lot for making me feel much better. You are a fab bunch.

Michelle I'm sorry that your step-mother is being an arse with you. It's her loss, not yours mate :GroupHug:

The flower shop has cancelled the order and I now have an account with them with a credit balance. Oh well, I know I will want to send flowers or fruit to my friend at some other time as a thank you for all she does for me. She got me a dock for my Samsung tab for Christmas plus sent a box of goodies that cost her an arm and a leg to post. I've had 2 iPods from her, a fab internet squeezebox radio, a Kindle, a trip to Edinburgh and a gourmet dinner at one of the best hotels here when she came to stop with me last year. I like to do what I can to let her know I appreciate all of this even though I don't now have a lot of disposable income.

That's says it all Marion. You have a good friend there who values you because you're worth it.The birthday pressie was for stepmum Griff.

Pleased you got to have fun with Blue Jayne

Have had good walkies and managed to miss the rain. Thing I like about this weather is don't see many dogs around so not so much of a worry when out with Fergus & Scoobs.

Marion , it can be so hard can't it when freindships change , as the very wise Suzeanana has said sometimes a close friendship can cool for no reason. Do you feel that you can talk to Ruby about how you feel and ask if there is an underlying issue ? at the very least it might help for you to be able to say how you are feeling

Mark and I are planning to come and visit Keswick with Noah in February or March next year and we would love to come and visit you , would you be able to recommand any B&Bs locally that allow dogs

Sam x

Sorry Jacobean... thought the gift was for the daughter in law.... never mind, hopefully it will be something you can use yourself anyway

Glad you had a good lesson on Blue Gooster

Marion, your friend in the states sounds lovely, thank goodness the florists have cancelled the order.

I took the dogs for a walk this evening and i was followed by some very odd young man...typically i had my soft dog with me! i didn't think i was ever going to get home as i had to take detours all over so he didn't follow me home.... made it home to be greeted with a broken soft crate, my genius dad had put the laptop right on the join where the spring loaded bits are..... need it for new years eve with the fireworks so have managed to cobble a bit of plastic waste pipe on it to hold the bits together, i am very annoyed as i wanted to get a blackberry playbook but now need to buy a new crate instead

What a nuisance, griff.

Yantan, it's not you, ok? Not nice being excluded, even if you don't feel up to going.

When I was working in a small care home, a colleague was getting married and had invited me verbally. Her mother also worked there and was arranging the wedding. All the staff got formal invitations except me, and the boss told me bluntly that I was to be on duty all that Saturday as everyone else had been invited to the wedding. Obviously the work had to be done but I had assumed that it would be shared out so everyone had a chance to attend either the ceremony or part of the reception, and I was very hurt. Eventually I challenged my colleague's mother and asked what I had done to offend them. They were astonished, and said they had thought I wouldn't want to be at the reception as there would probably be smoking. This was in the days when you could smoke in a hotel's public rooms. And there I was thinking they didn't want me there in case I didn't know how to dress and behave at a wedding. So it wasn't me at all, but I wish they had said instead of letting me wonder.

Met a very cute shar pei this evening, she was all velvety and snuggly :luvlove:

suzeanne I hope you feel better now :GroupHug:

maz It's not you ya daft mare! I've met you and I thought you were someone I could happily spend time with :GroupHug: I think Ruby's being not very nice, considering all the shite you've had to deal with over the past few years.

Lurgy is receding and I'm feeling a bit better today.

Hope you managed to get back to sleep suzeanna :GroupHug:

Hope the paperwork doesn't take too long Sam and have fun at the gym :)

Still got my sore throat  Wanted an early night last night, but mum and dad got a phone call from my little brother as his car battery was flat and he was still at the Trafford centre. This was at 10pm. I then had to stay up until he had decided whether to call green flag, or whether he needed me to go and give him a jump start (had to be me as mum and dad had hit the wine). Anyway, he went with the green flag in the end

Got my fitball class this morning, new female instructor today. Not sure what she will be like - hopefully it will be easier than bar blast was :)

Glad you are starting to feel better Alex. It's a lingerer

Hope it was wind and it's gone now Suzeanna

Having a good old sort out. Have got one on me today. Sorting out mounds of paperwork that needs to be filed or thrown away. Have amassed tons of the stuff thanks to being the address for Oldies Club too. Then when I've found the payroll stuff will be doing self assessment. I'm hoping it doesn't rain today and tomorrow as I've got the bit between my teeth to have a good sort out in the gardens too.

I dont know what it was, but it eventually wore off at about 6.30, thank heavens. I was still awake at 7, then fell asleep and woke with a jump at 8.15 when I heard OH going downstairs to put the kettle on..oops, should have been my turn to get up.

Good luck with the paperwork ...I filled up a rubbish bag not long ago with shredded bills, bank statements etc!
