Novembers Numb Nuts

Am so annoyed with my vets  Just been to pick up the diazepam for Charlie, only to be told that as they haven't seen him for 3 months, they are refusing to give us any without an appointment. I explained about his recent surgery with the specialists over the phone, and nothing was said about them having to see him. I had a slight argument with them, as there was a poster on the wall saying they only need to review dogs every 6 months for repeat precriptions (which this is as he has had it before). All they could offer me was some herbal calmex, which I have given to him. Our vets are getting worse and worse when it comes to money grabbing, as I was paying for my stuff, there was a lady who had taken her cat for a checkup after a course of anti inflammatories. She paid the full £25 last time she had an appointment, then it's supposed to be £18.50 for follow ups. Anyway, because the lady was a week late taking the cat for a check up, they charged her the full £25!!! I used to really rate our local vets, but they just seem to have gone ridiculous with their fees and charges

The people playing a game were the couple who went first.

I did think Caroline was a worthy winner though.

I agree. Caroline had no hidden agenda

Im home!

Try and take thinks easy :flowers:

I usually organise Secret Santa in October but my October was so bloody horrible that I kind of forgot it was actually October and the time to do it

Does anyone fancy taking part this year?

:GroupHug:

Yes we would :flowers:

Archie would like to take part in a Secret Santa or even just a pressie exchange with someone so neither of us doesn't know what he's getting.

We would be happy with that too, whatever is easier for everyone. :flowers:

OK well I shall blather away with you then Alex and anybody else who turns up. It is shame that many have left although I have no room to comment as I was one of them rolleyes.gif

Nice to see you back here, Yantan. Sorry that Ruby is not well. I am still around though mostly by the time I get on here in the evening my brain has stopped working as its allotted daily quota of rational thought has been used up by Doglost.

Jazz, sorry you are having such a rough time healthwise.

A few early fireworks here tonight, but mostly rain stopped play. Landlords and extended family are coming to have a bonfire here tomorrow, on the paddock which is having a rest from equine lodgers at present. They will be collecting and burning all the tons of privet branches which I spent ages hacking down, good riddance to that lot. Out of respect for Wispa's sanity - and mine - they will only be having sparklers for the children, but from here they will have an excellent view of the local displays.

Luckily for Tiffy they don't do guy fawkes night in France. Even on the big celebration nights our village doesn't really do fireworks anyway, which is bliss.

Glad you're home Jazz and hope you're feeling a bit better soon.

Sorry you've had such a rubbish week Loobie. Hope you get your positivity back.

Alex - hope you got some feedback from your meeting or at least managed to get rid of some of the tension from your neck.

Yay for early finishes and bottles of wine. Cheers - am currently having some too.

Am having a rare night in London. Came over to go to my favourite hairdressers and catch up with some old friends from work (when I used to work lol) Staying over then heading down to Eastbourne tomorrow to spend the weekend with my family

Cheryl - I'd love to take part in Secret Santa if you feel up to organising it but if not please don't worry. You've had a horrendous time lately. Or if you want any help with it just shout - I've plenty spare time

Marion - a lot of people seem to have defected to facebook. Really can't be doing with that - too disjointed and messy for me - so I'm another one who just rambles on here

Morning :tired:

Slept with 4 dogs on the bed, and will be doing the same tonight :tired: Thankfully it chucked down here last night so there weren't a lot of fireworks but expecting a lot more tonight.

Gave my shoulders a good rub with a nobbly thing last night, so they are slightly better but I still want a leccy one.

No accidents from the boys yesterday so tummies must be better biggrin.gif My rug still stinks even though it's been washed, so I am going to see if I can fix the Bissell - I suspect it's a blocked pipe somewhere but depends where I can get at it. Failing that I'm going to get some of that foam stuff you spray on to see if that's any good.

New wellies get their first outing today.

I heard from my manager that the meeting apparently didn't have the desired result, which is a shame cos if it had I would have blown my target out of the water. I did say that they should have taken someone in with them who knew the history and the ins and outs, but they didn't.

Scottish Power being useless again - they were supposed to change me on to a cheaper tariff on 1st November but they haven't so I've sent them a snotogram.

PS : Yes please to secret Santa and possible Yooman one too flowers.gif

Morning all biggrin.gif

I have just had a bacon and tomato omelette and though it looked a bit of mess it was very tasty.

Loobie I'm sorry you've lost your mo-jo. Can we do anything to help?

Eve I was wondering if FB was the culprit for enticing folk away from here. I don't really care for it. I am mainly keeping off it because I am trying to make a point with Ruby. Since her depression hit she is obsessed by bloody FB. I think she gives far too much personal information away through it and especially by posting links to her blog there too - although I do understand that that's due to the disinhibition and distorted thinking that often goes hand in hand with depression. She just doesn't seem to know where to draw the line ohmy.gif

I'd really like to have my old friend of 30 years standing back because quite frankly I don't like the one that has taken over mecry.gif
