Afternoon. I have been back to the docs as my shoulder is now next to useless and I cant move it. I can see a specialist in about 12 weeks for a consultation, and then wait about another 4 months should it need operating on. I cant work or wait that long, so Im dipping into my savings pot and seeing a private bloke on Friday. My own doc thinks they may have to open me up and re-arrange my shoulder to make it work again  I forsee lots of very badly spelt RMF's, typed with my left hand while I languish after an op

crikey helly thats a hell of a wait....... i am due to see an ENT specialist, i have to pick up my letter this week and i will be seen in 2-3 weeks..my treatment should be pretty rapid after that, i had my heart done too and again i was seen within 2 weeks initially and then my treatment continued after. now i don't know how you feel about this but through experience you can be seen NHS a lot quicker, present yourself at A&E, tell them you were working and you felt your shoulder go or a pain etc etc you will get your xrays done there and then and as your doctor suspects you will need surgery i expect you would be referred to the fracture clinic the next working day.... not necessarily the right thing to do but why should you have to wait weeks and weeks for an appointment or be forced to pay? you work hard and are entitled to the correct care :flowers: my dad had a nasty accident and the silly sod left it 3 days before venturing to a&e he was seen by a consultant the next day and had an ultrasound the day after that

A knackered shoulder is hardly life threatening though Griff, and to be fair, the NHS is unbeatable for serious illnesses needing rapid treatment. I'd rather not further stretch A+E by pretending Ive just done something that has been getting progressivly worse for months, though with hindsight I should have gone the day I injured it anyway

I have spent the afternoon on baby bird watch rolleyes.gif

So far I have 1 Woodpigeon baby and 2 House Martin babies under surveillance, with 7 carnivorous hens on the prowl they need protecting until they can fly, the HM babies are particularly vulnerable, I know where they're nest is so I've put them on our flat roof under the nest, rather than on the terrace which is where I found them, neither of them can fly, at least the parents are feeding them though.

Di - you have reminded me I got one of these in 'm' when I knackered my shoulder on the ice, It just keeps everything together. I can pop it in the post if you like. It's very tight fitting and you can't wear it for hours (and it might be a bit hot in this weather) but you're more than welcome to give it a go :flowers:

Just heading off to bed and an alarm has started off, hope it shuts up soon or else I'll track it down and shove a brick through the window  That will get someone out.

How much better would the Spain v Portugal match have been with a strict, no nonsense referee - german or russian type I think, with no time for namby pamby prima donnas. Is your leg falling off? No, then get up you great girl's blouse. It was a bit of a farce with all the head holding and rolling around cos someone was standing next to me.

Agreed. It all got rather silly towards the end, cards being dished out like sweets  Spain should've scored again, I'm bitter because I had Villa 2-0  I'm really looking forward to the Argentina v Germany game on Friday.

Its soooo hot and muggy again. Id happily live in Alaska

No you wouldn't. If you heard a door handle being quietly opened, it wouldn't be a horse sneaking in but a bear. Anyway, you are just living in the hot muggy bit of the village. It's b***** freezing up here at the top.

Di, hope you can get some relief for your shoulder.

I did have a quiet day in the end. A few phone calls but they were all good news
