great news re the Pug

Snow I had a minor problem with a Travelodge room one night ( power related ) the hotel was full so they could not move us and they took my electrical equipment downstairs to charge in a office and gave me a £60 voucher the next day via email. I am sure their Head office will sort your complaint out

I am really struggling with negative people on FB , we are showing examples of some outstanding work on Dogstar's page and people are upset because the dog has a chain lead and not a fabric lead or a dog is laying on the ground on a towel in a blanket after an operation not in a £3000 state of the art recovery cage ( which is just a metal crate on wheels really )

People seem angrier and more judgemental nowadays or maybe I my inner squirrel is just giving up !

I had a think about this, and there seems to be less inquisitiveness and as Owl says more judgement.

So the lady who commented on the lead, didn't ask why it was a chain lead and I notice she hasn't been back to offer to but a slip lead or two!!

The internet has so much potential for good, and yet so much crap comes from it too!

I am feeling rather judgemental myself today, and so are all the good people who were out all hours looking for that pug. Don't worry, he is fine. He was never lost. The girl who said she had been hit by a van made it all up. The scents Wispa was following were his old walkies routes. No wonder she could not find him. Poor lass, she worked so hard and just was not making sense of the trail.

Pug was given to this girl by her mum as birthday present, bought via Preloved. Girl didn't want him for whatever reason, and sold him to nice people who love him dearly. She thought her mum would be upset by pug being sold so made up this fantasy and pretended to be knocked down by van and dropped lead. Lied about the fractures. On Friday when the local paper refused to print their promised article because they checked with the police who had no crime number for the hit and run, people started to ask questions. Suddenly the girl claimed to have a phone call from finder and went off to get him, telling her mum that pug had been picked up lame so she was taking him to vet before bringing home. Came home without him, saying he had been taken poorly in the vets and was fighting for his life and might not make it.

At that point a girl responded to messages on the pug owners' networks saying this pug was never lost, she has the dog, she bought him from original girl who claimed he was missing! One of the search organisers went over to check the story and it is true. He is safe and loved, in a new home.

Happy for him, but I think someone needs to grow up. Or get therapy. Or have a fabulous career as a best selling fiction writer.

A nice thing happened to cheer me up anyway. I helped to save an owl's life. This guy found a tawny owl in his garden, acting strange and not flying. He rang his friend for advice, who called his mum, who is my friend Chrissie. She could not help as she gets asthma from birds close up, so she asked me. I know a local raptor rescue lady, and bless her, she drove 40 miles to catch it herself as owl-handling can be a hazard. The owl is doing ok in the owl hozzy, it has slight concussion but knocking itself silly has saved its life. It was badly infested with flat flies, yukky bloodsuckers which make birds anaemic and shorten their lives. After deinfestation and some time to get fit, it should be able to go back to the wild.

I'd like to say I am not surprised about the Pug's ex owner and also the negative people commenting on Dogstar's FB page but I'm not. Back in the day earning enough money to feed your family and keep a roof over their heads took up many people's time. They didn't have time for all this sort of crap we have flying around today. As we grow more prosperous as a society with more leisure time than ever before so some look around to fill their time by making mischief for thrills and kicks. I could write an essay on this but won't bore you all to death!

I also had to ban a poster who was making personal comments about Marks age and appearance in the video with the dog !

now this dog was hit by a bus and laid in a ditch for 4 days , rescued by a Dogstar team member who climbed into a rubbish filled ditch and pulled her out , her front leg was shattered beyond repair , she was stabilised and then rushed 3 hours by van to a specialist where she was found to have a serious blood condition and needed 6-8 weeks treatment , we then raised the money in 24 hours due mostly to an Australian dog charity asking its members to support us , the dog then spent 10 days in intensive care before a successful operation to remove her damaged leg and within 4 days she was standing

now I think thats a bloody amazing rescue and story but not for these negative types who just want to complain and tell me what I am doing wrong ( again )

i don't get it............ what the hell does someones age and appearance have to do with saving a dogs life? the dog got saved thanks to dogstar end of.... i couldn't care less if the person was bright pink with blue spots dressed as a flippin clown, the dog got the help she needed. There are always people who think they can do it so much better but i bet given the opportunity there would be a reason why they couldn't possibly help

As for the girl with the pug, well her mother is stupid for giving her a dog she didn't want and the girl needs to man up, she should have just said thanks for him/her but a dog is not suited to my lifestyle so we will find him a decent home, instead she lies and wastes so much of volunteers time and no doubt money (petrol costs phonecalls etc) pathetic

Moaning :tired:

Glad the pug got a new home but that girl has got serious problems

Sam - people need to stop judging everything by our standards. It's all well and good to look at your own dog in its nice fluffy bed and criticize from afar, but most people will recognise that you are doing the very best with what you've got to work with and that's all you can do :GroupHug:

Not looking forward to today at all, going to be hell :(
