morning. I dont have any grass to mow anymore. I have a building site where my garden once was  Today I have to continue packing away my house contents and my clothes and tonight I have friends over to help me shunt furniture about. The roof will come off in about 10 days time, then the breakthrough of my walls. I wonder what possessed me to think all this was a good idea

MIL had a tyre blow out on the M4 last night when she was travelling back from Brecon  thankfully she was in the inside lane so managed to get onto the hard shoulder, she had Sal with her and had to leave her in the car whilst she walked back to the phone box thingy, the RAC were very good though and escalated her to priority as she was a lone elderly woman with a dog but she still faced a 30 min wait, but within 5 mins a police car arrived and pulled in behind her and the Policeman came and waited with her. Once the RAC man had fixed the tyre the Policeman talked MIL through getting back onto the M4 and drove along behind her and when he indicated for her to pull out he came out behind her to stop the traffic going right up behind her. Her tyre was completely shredded she'd had it new only 2 weeks ago to come and see us, and she hadn't been happy with the way the car was "feeling" it so she'd taken it to the garage when she got back for the man to have a look and see if there was something wrong with the steering and got the all clear then this happens.

Morning :flowers:

Got a bit drained by the heat yesterday  Today looks like being a bit fresher though, so will head out with the dogs soon.

:GroupHug: for Gus

I found a card for my Lumix camera that came back from being fixed and found lots of pics from last year. This one caught my eye. Spike drinking from out booze "cooler" at last years camping trip.

We have moved house   I am loving our new house -

Congratualtions of the new house. I can't wait to be able to say the same!

Di, what exactly are you having done to your house? Are they knocking it down and starting again?

Snow  Glad MIL was Ok and that she had lots of support from the police.

Marge, great photo of Spike being a cheeky boy  Is your camera working ok now?

We have had a wibble with our house purchase  Surveyor says its overvalued by £10K. So now we have to wait and see if the vendors will reduce the price by that much though I am not sure they will as the house is in probate so they are not desperate to sell so they can move. :( Its only recent on the market too so they may just hold out until the prices rise a bit more. Got to start looking around again 'just in case'. We have just over 3 weeks to complete!

hello :) ive not been on the forum for what feels like years! hope to be on here alot more now ive found you again :)

Hello Nicky welcome back :flowers:

Very pleased with Nog's progress, we didn't take him to Bowood show as we weren't sure he was up to that much walking or coping with loads of dogs when he was still a bit protective over his leg, but he's been mixing more and more off & on lead with other dogs and has been fine in general so today 10 months after he broke his leg he once again came out with us to a fair. We took him with us to Heddington Steam Rally this morning http://www.heddingtonandstockley.co.uk/steamrally/ We went early as it would be cooler and hopefully not so busy as it will get later and being a steam rally we thought that there'd be fewer dogs around.

It was the right decision, rally was fab, really enjoyed it, loads of room and places to sit if we wanted, lots to see, really nice people to chat with about vintage cars, tractors and blinkin huge traction engines, craft stalls, trading area, falcons, ferrets, terriers, shires and donkeys, lawnmower racing, tractor pulling and wood carving - it was noisy as heck at times but really lovely and Nog walked for over 3 hours using all 4 legs the vast majority of the time and his tail never stopped wagging or his face grinning from ear to ear. He was even polite to several rude dogs who barged into him or shoved their noses where they shouldn't - he'd have told them off for that even before he hurt his leg but he was good as gold this morning and just moved away quietly. Every time we stopped to look at something someone came up and made a fuss of him and when we sat and had a bacon roll each the very nice lady on the stall came over and gave him 2 slices of bacon.

We checked the hock several times whilst we were there and it stayed cool with no swelling  He's now crashed out on my bed still with a big grin on his face

Good news about Nog :flowers:

Hi Nicky :wavey:

Spike

Andrea - The valuer is working for you, so in my experience they tend to err on the side of caution. I have never had them drop the full price (nor did I when I was selling a previous house), but we have met somewhere in the middle. I hope you get it sorted soon, I know how keen you are to move :flowers:

Hi Nicky :wavey:

Alex, this is the surveyor the bank sent out, so its highly likely they wont lend us the full amount we needed for our mortgage. No chance of us finding the difference in this lifetime so would have to look for something else if vendor wont drop the £10K. :(

We have been out shopping for film for a camera that a guy at work has leant to me to have a play with. No one sells film anymore! All the specialist camera shops are closed in a Sunday. Now I just have to work out how to use it.
