Just watched Strictly final..certainly lifted my spirits, plus we wanted the person who won. I think I've been suffering some sort of delayed shock today after my news yesterday, I've had that butterflies in the tummy sort of sick feeling, cold even though it's warm in the house, and as if I can't breathe properly. OH says it's the brain going into survival mode, he prescribed prosecco in copious quantities and it seems to be helping! Thanks all of you for your sympathy it really is helping especially as I can't talk to my daughter about it, she'll completely panic and be convinced I'm going to drop dead any second, so I'm not telling her until I absolutely have to.

Having a (hopefully) quiet day here. Have been out twice after 2 German pointers who forgot they were 11 years old and jumped a fence last Sunday before embarking on a marathon run along a towpath close to our nature reserve. Very picturesque route with kingfishers etc, must explore it at leisure some time. They did a circuit of at least 20 miles before collapsing a field away from home where the farmer found them. One is still at vet as he couldn't stand, the other was released to go home and sleep it off.

Oh dear Jazz, bad luck! there seems to be quite a lot chest infection going around at the moment.

Great news about the dogs, Owl. I hope the one who collapsed will recover ok.

Griff, that is very very sweet of you, I appreciate the offer. I'd texted a colleague/friend of Philip's who had breast cancer about six years ago, and she phoned me this morning and we had a good chat.

Our late GSD Jazz had bad tummy problems, colitis with all the attendant unpleasantness! Our vet said Chappie..the basic tinned stuff and rather to our surprise it worked.

Philip went into work today and his OP's manager was waiting for him...he'd emailed her on Friday to tell her about my diagnosis but she'd been in a meeting and didn't come back to him. She's told him he can have all day tomorrow and Thursday off, bless her. He said she started crying when he was explaining what I'll probably have to have done and she nearly started him off. Had a bit of a wobble earlier, being on my own for the first day since I was told but I've pulled myself together now (makes me sound like a pair of curtains!)

Groomer is coming to pick Candy up at 12, she's looking rather wild again now but not as bad as when she came out of kennels. Hope she's a good girl for her.

Suzeanna, you are allowed to have a wobble and be upset...human nature, sometimes a good old cry can make you feel a whole heap better

Yantan, have your relatives looked at the yorktest for Tazs tummy? it may find what is troubling him, we were advised a specialist diet for Diez and they said that even though it contained ingredients she was bad with, as they were hydrolyzed she would be o.k....she wasn't, took me years to find a dog food that i could feed both my dogs and for 2 years she was on a home cooked diet

Hugs for all that need them right now :GroupHug:

you can always try tinned pumpkin as bland food it does help with dogs, its actually mostly butternut squash really

My boy turns 15 this month had him since a 12 week old puppy dog where has that time gone.

I would post more pics of him but they are all on my phone, it doesn't hook up with my computer at home properly to put onto photobucket and then save to here..
