May's Mundane Muttering

I have been an exsmoker for 24 hours - I vape instead! This is all rather astonishing to me, from 40+ a DAY before moving back to Wales I cut back to about 17 or 18 a day for the past year, then on Tuesday I bought myself a proper ecig set up not the disposable fake fag type thinking it might go alongside my fags but not for one moment thinking it would completely replace them. Wednesday I smoked about 5 fags plus the vape, Thursday it was 3, Friday it was 2 Saturday just 1 and then yesterday none at all just the vape! My ciggies and lighter are still sitting on the desk right beside me and I haven't left the house without putting them in my handbag as normal, but I haven't lit one or needed one! I'm dumbfounded frankly, moreover I cannot believe how much I have already saved the ecig set up has already pretty much paid for its self - I cant deny that I still feel the impulse to have a ciggy now and again, but thats more the habit rather than the craving. I have not been bad tempered or anxious or had any of the cravings, and I've noticed the past couple of nights no rattly chest when I go to bed and no coughing in the night or in the morning. Obviously its early days yet and I haven't been to work with the ecig yet so still have a few minor concerns about having to top it up when out and about and the "novelty" wearing off but so far so good, if I can stick to vaping then I estimate I shall be saving over £40 a week plus being able to keep on enjoying my "smoking" with fewer harmful or antisocial effects.

well done Snow, i stopped smoking long before ecigs were invented or even the plastic things, i went from 60 a day to 2 roll ups and patches for a few days then no roll ups and just patches for 2 weeks, i haven't touched a fag since.... can't say i an not tempted but it is usually when i have had a beer or 3 Lol, never touched one though. with regard the having to top up, could you buy another ecig and keep that with you to save you trying to faff about topping it up?

Awww Gooster, well done with the little girl and as for your grumpy customers well people are just plain nobs sometimes!

dad took the pup out yesterday and rang me on the way home, he could hardly breath and just informed me she would require another bath..... he got home, i took the dog off him and asked had she been naughty and between gasps for breath he informed me just stupid! i bathed her and got her back downstairs and got the full story, he took her to a part of the field she hadn't been before and was explaining to her he used to take her sister there to swim (diez... he never walked laney) and with that kota went boinging through the long grass and disappeared............ she fell in the river! apparently she is a terrific swimmer and very strong swimmer too as she swam a fair distance against the current, at least it saves me trying to get her to go in the river in the summer, i did laugh my head off when he explained that whilst running after her he managed to fall over and punch himself in the nose... i don't know who is more daft...him or the bl**dy dog!

:biglaugh: at the mental image of your dad falling over and punching himself in the nose

Dakota is

Reminds me of the time mum and dad took Charlie and Ted out for a walk along the canal. Dad was trying to be a smart ass and went near the edge trying to avoid a patch of mud. He fell in the canal and mum had to rescue him. They carried on walking and went through a rather long dark tunnel. Ted then fell in the canal  Ted absolutely hates water (he walks around puddles), so he was totally traumatised by his dunking. It was at this point they decided to turn around and come home  I have to add I was much more concerned about Ted than my dad

Today is my only day off work till a week on Wednesday, and me being a smart ass booked a dentist appointment at 9.40  Anyway, I survived the dentist with no fillings or treatment needed.

Well done snow :flowers:

Dakota is lovely  She looks very serious for a pup!

I found a lump on Morse's chin today :( I didn't notice it on Friday, and mum and dad hadn't noticed it over the weekend, but they're not the most observant so not sure how long its been there. Going to keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go down get him to the vet. I know they can't live forever, but Morse is definitely an old man now so I worry over the littlest things with him.

Dakota looks angelic..I'm sure you are making things up!

I hope the lump turns out to be nothing serious Sophie, could he have been bitten by something in the garden?

My daughter heads off to Greece on Friday..gone until September. Still rather stunned she's doing it, thought she'd got the travel bug out of her system in her twenties when she went backpacking alone to Australia for six months, but obviously not!

Hope Morse's lump is nothing serious :flowers:

When I was in the vets yesterday an old merle collie was brought in. She'd been attacked by another dog and her neck and chin were torn and blood was pouring out. Felt so sorry for her and her owners. Hope she's okay :(

Suzeanna, hope your daughter has a good time and it will be september in no time and she will be home

Gooster, glad you got off with no fillings and Lol @your dad and poor Ted

wellllllllllllllllllllll kota has passed 6 things for her Silver kc and i am a bit embarresed to say we hadn't practiced any of them.... i take her to ensure she is socialised not really for the training side of things but she did great and i am a bit proud of her.... considering most of my days are spent being mad at her
