Jack, Elaine hasn't got anything on ebay at the moment :(

No because bloody work has seriously curtailed my jewellery making - the sods  I have two days off this week though, so I might get something done.

Had a verrreeeee interesting chat with the admin manager. She orchestrated things to get me on my own and asked if I'd be interested in a new position that's coming up. She couldn't say too much about it, other than she thinks I'd find it challenging (one of my stipulations). She brought up the subject of money and I said that there was no way I could work for the wages they were offering. She basically said that I'd have to give her a ballpark figure of what I would work for - but she stressed that the 'hospitality industry is notorious for low wages'. I told her I'd think things over. Oh yes - she also said wistfully "It's just a shame you didn't apply for the office manager job"

Interesting stuff really. I'm getting the distinct impression they don't want to let me go :glare:

ETA: I think the card's lovely too, Michelle :) I know what you mean about not being able to tell if something's rubbish or not when you've made it yourself :laughingsmiley:

 72 pages. No way can I catch up.

Has anyone seen Tracey s lately. Am a bit worried about her.

Very random, but have had to change Mandy's food again. I think I am wrapped around her paw.

She is back on pets at home senior. I add a bit of warm water and it has gravy. It doesn't look a bad food and she is woofing it down so can't be too bad.

I hope everyone is ok

I got a job offer this morning and start next monday , I could have started tommorow ( they are very keen )

Brilliant news! What will you be doing? :flowers:

its working for a large shopping centre developer , they are building a huge complex which includes a brand new underground station and a total refurbishment of another station and I will ensuring they open on time

I worked for them in 2006 when they are were opening a new underground sidings ( all connected to the shopping complex ) and the head chappie rang me this morning and offered me a job that I would have been mad to turn down so I took it

its very handy as I will be on a building site with thousands of builders working on a 2.7 billion pound project as Mark and I are currently paying for a very poor sri lanka widows house to be rebuilt ( not dogstar money this is our money ) and we are hoping to branch out into building homes there and would be looking to get large construction companies to sponsor them so the timing is perfect

plus I can pay off my credit card which paid for my flight and the cash advance for this ladys house

life is good

okay ladies house

the walls are not bad and were built by her late husband ( he died 10 years ago ) she has a daughter the same age as my daughter

The roof however is falling apart and it leaks in multiple places and it rains a lot in Sri Lanka

DSCF2697.jpg

the living room , there own no items of furniture at all at the moment. the floor is levelled mud and when the rain water gets in from the leaky roof it becomes a swamp

DSCF2695.jpg

The kitchen

DSCF2704.jpg

The bedroom which they both share

DSCF2703.jpg

these people are poor , I mean literally struggling to feed themselves and there is no state aid to assist them and they often rely on neighbours and Monks to assist them with food , they have a outside toilet and a stand pipe to wash themselves and there clothes

by our standards its a living hell yet the lady and her daughter were both clean and presentable and welcomed us into the house

and they also have a dog , not just any dog a dog that needs special care and attention ( both front legs are deformed )

Mark observed that the dog appears better feed then mum ( I think she feeds her daughter and dog and eats whats left )

so we have a team of builders working now to replace the roof, plaster the walls and floor , make better ventilation in the kitchen , make proper door and windows and also to buy some basic furniture and cooking equipment

we are also working with village leaders and MEF who are working on providing employment oppurtunies for this lady ( for example MEF are going to plant banana plants in her garden and buy back the crops for the elephants )

its a pilot project and when its finished we are going to try and get construction companies to sponsor more houses , our builder is going to train local men to do the semi skilled work and every one who works on the project gets a fair wage for there work

I am as excited about this as I am about Dogstar ( the funds are and will always be 100 % seperate ) although Dogstar intends to employ this families as foster carers or to make items such as dog collars etc
