I am still here, no need to worry. Thanks for your concern. Just been out and about a lot, and even socialising with friends and acquaintances for a change. Transport run yesterday, then went down to the reserve for a quiet stroll with Wispa and spotted some illegal fishermen. Got their vehicle details and beetled off unseen hehe.

Still recovering from being away for Easter weekend. It was a long drive but I had a really nice time. Trying to do stuff in the garden but battling fatigue. I don't know why gardening is such a popular occupation for senior people. It totally knocks me out.

Congratulations Jayne and also Loobie. Have fun with pup.

Thanks guys :) I feel so lucky to do my job - I got a big hug from a lady on Friday as I told her she could get back to driving again. The company I work for really respect and look after their employees - we all got an Easter egg from the bosses. At Christmas they gave me a bottle of Lanson champagne and a £30 gift voucher.

im trying to get Frankie to learn the rules of bed sharing. don't roll on my face so I cant breathe, don't push your body into my neck so I cant move, and the one this morning, don't smash your face onto where ive had a tooth out! shes flying through the air many times, but still not getting the rules. shes so desperate to show her love, and be in you rather than next to

that's a lovely picture of you xxxx

I kept her off the bed for 2 nights, she happily went in her open crate or the sofa. she was calmer on the bed the first night after that, but is so desperate to show you she loves you, she goes over the top, so will have to be kept off tonight

probably for the best Jazz, if she gets a new home, people might not want her in the bed...i don't mind provided they are well behaved, Steves dog Molly sleeps in his bed, his ex started it and now he can't stop her, she is up and down all night, wants under the covers wants out from under the covers, wants to lie in the middle of you etc etc

What a lovely photo Griff. You look fab. As Owl has said it's nice to put a face to a name. I have met Owl so I know what she looks like and I can confirm she's a luffley lady :jammin: My George took to her right away and he wasn't a dog to just go to anyone.

Jayne well done :flowers: Can a dog have that laser thing done? Archie has cloudy eyes and definitely can't see as well as he did. If it was something that could be done we'd seriously consider it.

This morning I popped Archie into the car and took him up to the stone circle. We walked the perimeter of the field keeping well away from the tourists. I was pretty gobsmacked at just how some people behaved. They parked up, strode over to the stones, took a handful of photos, mainly of themselves posing, and then left. I started timing the average stay - 4 minutes! No one came over to the far side of the field where I was watching them from. It has a fabulous dry stone wall with views to die for and which can't be seen in full from the stones. I have been there literally hundreds of times over my lifetime and I never get tired of it. 4 minutes cannot do it justice! Next time we go we'll go much earlier and will probably have it to ourselves.

Yantan, thanks. I think with the sightseeing thing, a lot of it is just so they can nip up, take a quick selfie to prove they have been and gone...a lot of people just want to pack as much into one day or 2 days as they can. My nan was from whitehaven so when we went up to the lakes we used to go to the hidden lakes (well less well known ones) and avoid a lot of the chaos..it is a shame when people don't really appreciate what's around them

I didn't know your nan was frae Whitehevven (jam eaters!) Griff. Small world! I spect you would have gone to Ennerdale Water which is lovely. I am descended from the Patricksons who were famous locally and known as "the kings of Ennerdale". Also my favourite lake at Wastwater might have been on your list? Have you ever visited Whitehaven during the annual Tall Ships event?

Oh god yeah Ennerdale!!! we went for tea at the ennerdale hotel and mum and dad stay up there all the time! yup waswater we went to, she was from cleator moor and i used to go and play in hen beck when we were up there, we went to see where she used o live as a kid and she went and knocked on a door where her friend used to live...she was still there! insisted we all go in tea..never forget that lady, Elsie who gave us blayberry pie which turned out tongues purple Lol. I haven't been during the tall ships event, sadly my nan never had chance to take me back but she took us to meet some of her old friends which was lovely and my great nan and grandad are buried up there so we visited their graves.one thing i will also remember is that my nan and great aunt tess always told me there is no place as cumbria..it's cumberland and i won't ever call it anything different lol

Lovely pic Griff, from the way you talk about yourself I wasn't expecting such a beautiful lady!

Yantan, when we lived in Sussex we were very close to Ashdown Forest. I found it astonishing the number of people who drove into the car park, got out folding chairs and just sat there next to the car.
