Grey is the British (and Canadian) spelling, gray is the American spelling.

It doesn't really show much of the red, as the light wasn't bright enough. I used garnier vibrant red. I normally dye it blond, but am liking the darker look for now. Can't believe how much messier dark dye is to deal with than the light stuff though - I'm still finding red streaks in random places in the bathroom

Whizie, I hope things don't get to horrid, whatever is going on. You should feel free to post here to get it off your mind if needed :flowers:

I was a forgetful mum and we neglected to mark the triple celebration that should have occurred on Monday  Zooey's 13th birthday, Logan's 4th gotcha day, and Kia's 2nd gotcha day. We shall be making a trip to the pet store at the weekend to remedy the lack of presents for the beasties. I have promised Zooey no more dogs as birthday presents, so we won't be adding another, despite the pattern saying its time.

Whizzie, i agree if you need to get something off your chest you feel free to vent here...anyone dishing any nastiness would get short shrift from me.... hope things get better for you soon,

Sophie, love the hair and it is bizarre how you can continue finding dye for days despite thoroughly cleaning up after yourself...... happy birthday/gotcha day to all of your furries

Merledogs, how awful having to drive all the way to work when you don't need to be there, hope you get your work done quickly and can stick your feet up

sorry if i have missed anyone!!

Nice hair Sophie, and happy belated birthday to Zooey, happy belated gotcha day to Logan and Kia :flowers:

Liz, as Griff says, feel free to talk on here - I have seen a bit of the stuff that is going on on Facebook, but know nothing of the situation, so am not going to judge anyone :GroupHug:

Thanks for the comments about my waist - I think because it is so small, it makes my bum look so much bigger than it actually is - trying to get trousers is a nightmare, as if they fit my bum, they really gape at the waist - have given up and mostly wear dresses for work now, and jodphurs at the farm :)

Waiting on a phone call from mil who is seeing the consultant today about whats going to happen next etc. hope they can get started on some treatment as she has been deteriorating very fast on a daily basis. Had to drop everything yesterday as when I spoke to her on the phone she told me she was having a very bad day and it had spread to her hands and arms so she couldn't even hold the phone properly. This is really not good and very worrying that had she not been able to get this appointment privately through my fil's old medical scheme then she'd still be weeks away from seeing anyone about treatment to reverse it and lord alone knows what state she'd be in by then.

Taking Sal to the vets this afternoon for her boosters, Nog's not going to be impressed at me taking Sal out without him lol

Well flipping heck - rheumatologist says its NOT osteomalacia after all :banghead: he thinks its some form of inflammation possibly viral in origin, which could potentially be very good news as it may mean it can be treated and everything back to normal fairly quickly, however, they have to run some blood and urine tests to try and figure out whats going on. Meantime he gave her a steroid jab and some anti inflammatory pills and she already is able to pick up the phone and use it which she wasn't able to do yesterday and she thinks she's moving less stiffly, he said she probably won't feel the full benefit of the injection for a couple of days so we shall see... this all started not long after she got back from Tenerife now we're starting to wonder if she picked something up over there ... heck of a virus if thats what it is, that can cause this kind of damage so quickly.

Oh no I wrote and not posted!

Lovely red hair Sophie and happy goths day to the three terrors!

Have a hug Whizzie and another one who says you can voice your rants here!

Marian how are you feeling now?

And my brain is fried.

Rant alert!! I am tired and want to go to bed! Was meant to be going out for dinner and drinks with the friend I work with to catch up, but she has invited the other two people we work with so can't see much catching up going on! And it means I have to drive so won't be drinking and we are meeting in a pub so can't see me eating till I get home!! Rant over.

Murtle if you don't fancy it don't go. Never do anything you don't want to.

Sophie loving the colour of your hair. it's ace being red. I really liked it. Doesn't last as long as the blondie ones unfortunately. Mine might stand a chance lasting longer if I didn't wash it every day. Happy Gotchas, Birthdays to your lot.

Hope the tests confirm virus and your mil is rid of it soon Snow.

Good luck with the medical Jazz

Nowt much to report here, apart from by eck is it windy!

Jazz, good luck for tomorrow, do you have someone who can come and sit with you whilst your assessment is going on?

oooooo Murtle, hope you manage to get something to eat and it is a bit mean of her to invite the other 2 if it was meant to be you 2

Snow, great that your Mil is already feeling the benefits and as for the viral thing... they can kick of some pretty horrific immune responses, i totally know how you feel with regards the frustration at waiting times.... twice now i have had private scans just to get the diagnosis as even with urgent stuff you can have a 6 week wait... i just feel so lucky that my dad had me on his policy. i hope your Mil continues to improve and gets a firm diagnosis promptly

i have been using my ironing press again and i am having to give up with it... i can't stop burning myself! i have put a burn over the scar from last time i used it and added another 3 to the collection, i have tried using gloves but can't feel if there are any creases in the clothes... my mum is getting a steam generator iron for me to try as i can't manage the iron we have as it makes my arms hurt even more

I must admit that I paid to see a specialist privately after undergoing weeks of hell without a diagnosis. It was the best money I have ever spent. He saw me and whipped me into hospital within days where I stayed for 5 weeks. I arrived home on the same day as my appointment to see an NHS consultant arrived. Dawg knows what sort of state I would have been in by then had I waited. The NHS is brill but I do think it gets bound up with admin and red tape.

I've been to see Rogue Herries at the local theatre tonight as Ruby was performing in it as part of a community chorus backing up a professional cast. Well that's 3 hours of my life I'll never get back. It was DIRE :( The amateur players out classed the professionals.

At one point an actor delivered the line "....a million miles away" and a voice from the audience called back "I wish I was" which made me giggle. There were a few vacant seats after the interval as people voted with their feet. My friend and I only stopped for the second half for Ruby's sake as we knew she would be looking out for us when she took her bow.

Thank you for all kind thoughts and offers of sharing and venting. I will keep quiet here, not because I don't trust the people on this thread, but because I think it is probably best. It is a horrible situation with feelings running very high on both sides.

My Dad was 80 on Tuesday. We had a Chinese meal. He ate moderately, coughed quite a lot and wanted to go home for a sleep afterwards :) I bought him a chair and footstool for his birthday - it is only an Ikea one but he tried one we have at WagTails House and found it really comfortable. He doesn't slouch in it and that saves him chest pain. I'm happy to be able to help a bit.
