owl
Back in the vet again, stopped breathing but pulled through. The tracheo tube got blocked and couldn't be cleared properly, and Margaret reached the vet just in time after a mad dash. Ellie is sitting up and feeling a bit better but still not good. owl
Thank you Fugees. Will post an update as soon as I get one. It was quite a drama yesterday, as Margaret was on her way to a local caravan rally for the weekend, with caravan in tow, when she became aware that Ellie who was in the passenger seat was in difficulty. She pulled off the road but found she couldn't get the tube completely clear, and had to rush to the vet stopping regularly along the way to have another go at the tube. She ended up driving one handed with other hand on the tube, and miraculously as she approached the surgery a vet nurse appeared on her way back from lunch break. Margaret called her over and she grabbed Ellie and sprinted to the surgery leaving Margaret to park car and van. By the time Margaret arrived in the surgery, the team had saved Ellie's life. A minute later would have been too late. UPDATE Margaret just called. Ellie is comfortable and has a temporary tracheo tube in. She is being monitored over the weekend and her vet will make a decision on Monday on the best thing to do. It may be to cut back the skin around the tracheotomy. Margaret is with her caravanning friends at the camp site as it is fairly close to the vet. She would like to thank you all for your good wishes. safneo
How scary for Mrs Mop. Obviously fate was helping along the way in having the vet nurse to hand and camp site being near the vets. Lets hope that fate is on side for the rest of the weekend so no more drama for Mrs Mop to deal with. Get well soon Ellie
