owl
Thinking of your OH, suzeanna, and hoping he doesn't get stuck at work. Snow has stopped here and the sun is out, but for how long one doesn't know.
cycas
It all melted a couple of hours ago and rain started, so I phoned Mark to say don't rush home, it's all gone. Now it's coming down like nobody's business and everything is white again, have just called him to say actually, might be an idea to get back here while you still can! merledogs
Still coming down here. Wasn't too bad coming home from work as there was hardly any traffic, but even in a 4x4 I had a few skiddy moments. The dogs are having great fun in the garden
cycas
My Mum just called to say they have 4 inches in her Dartmoor village... she's so excited, she could be 7 not 70! Apparently all the buses have stopped and cars can't move - so people are walking back from Tavistock up onto the moor to get home!
Yantan
There has been significant falls in parts of Cumbria apparently - the snow gates are shut on the A66 just past Penrith. In town here we had only the lightest of falls last night but because of the freezing temperatures we still have lots of snow from last week. The roads and pavements are treacherous. Not wishing to chance it again in the car (we got a little stuck yesterday) I walked the boys down to the park this morning. How I wish I hadn't. I was nearly on my ar$e several times. We had the park to ourselves for a good while and the only others to come in were 3 local dog walkers. I had a nice chat with them whilst we were hanging onto each other across the cricket pitch - it was like an ice rink! I'm afraid I won't be going out tomorrow if it's still like this and the boys will have to be content with a few games in the house. I am loving all your snow photos btw
louisebt
Fab pics, we have no snow in this part of south wales... an hours fall earlier, none stuck thankfully!
celeste
....sorry but we've had it that bad since Christmas That was a whole foot of snow in one night, been a lovely sunny day here, I doubt it'll last though, and I live in Fife, the county that ran out of grit If my experience is anything to go by I suggest grabbing some grit from the big yellow fun buckets on the street, it'll all be used up in a few days and the council won't refill them or clear the pavements/roads so get some while you can. cycas
I am ahead of you there, we have just spent a happy half hour raiding the grit bucket and gritting the lane past our house. Tara Banana thinks this is great fun but you have to keep an eye on her or she eats the salt
Jasmine
Loads of snow here, never seen so many people, children, dogs and snowmen on the Heath. Cleared drive but it's as bad now. Lindy not keen as it's up to her tummy in places, Ruby got snowballs on her legs and Sham just plodded as usual. The Heath

ailsas mum
We don't have a lot of snow but what is there has turned to ice and the pavements are treacherous. Arran and Abby both hate it and as soon as their bums hit the ground and they have a wee they want to come back home again , I don't mind as my @rse is still hurting after I fell a couple of times just before Christmas . owl
Just after I posted that the snow had stopped, it started again and we had about 3" in half an hour. It's been intermittent since then. My neighbour told me that the farmer who owns the field behind our estate is OK about people dogwalking there provided there is no stock, and I could hop over the gate at the end of the cul de sac. All very well for folks with terriers but hopping over a gate with 26 kilo of protesting pointery fing tucked under one arm is not very possible. So we trundled down the road a short distance to the farm track and got in that way, having a walk on long lead which wasn't very energetic but quite interesting scent-wise as various beasties had been through.
