owl
Oh thanks Owl Yes he did..took longer than normal, but our Micra is great in snow, unlike the Sierra estate we used to have. Anything remotely slippery and the back started coming round to meet the front! We had more snow last night, but not too much and apart from a struggle to get off our drive, he got to work ok. I think you are very sensible to stay in bed, it's what they recommend..heat one room of the house and stay in it! if that's the bedroom, it's perfectly logical to stay in the bed My previous car was a Sierra estate, and it was hopeless on both snow and grass, even firm grass which was a problem at car boots and shows where parking was on a field. The Escort estate is doing very well. I did get out of bed to take Wispa up the mountain. Our road gets the sun and also a fair bit of traffic so it is currently clear. So we trundled along the 3/4 mile to it, no major hills, but stupidly I didn't leave the car in the lay by near the turnoff to our walk, but in a small area just off the track. We had a good flounder/gallop respectively in the snow, struggled/flew up to the summit where someone had built a little snowman on top of the OS trig point , talked to various people and dogs, then got back in an increasing chill to find that the car was stuck. The snow had frozen and the wheel tracks had turned to ice. As I am a messy disorganised person I had a bag of manky dog towels and sheets still in the car. If I had been tidy and organised they would have been laundered and folded in a cupboard at home. As it was, I put them behind the wheels and backed out on them
rufus the wonderdog
We took some pictures of the snow around us this afternoon. I love the last photo - this is of the woods that are at the end of our road. It's really beautiful in there at all times of the year
cycas
I made myself an extra greyhound! This was the main road through our village at 10am this morning (usually I would have Molls on the lead, obviously - but there were no cars moving today, it was totally silent right across the valley in the morning)

merledogs
Fab greyhound Victoria No more snow here but what there is has frozen. It was -7 overnight so all the snow will be frozen, which should mean an interesting journey into work The condensation on the inside of the double glazing has frozen because it was so cold, I don't think that's ever happened before. Wendbert
No more snow overnight but like Alex, very cold and I had a first - my sliding patio door was frozen After much pulling and cursing, it eventually slid open so the boys could go fo a wee. Going to wait until 9am before attempting work.

cycas
The terriers look like they need stilts (Charliegoo's beard, oh dear!) but Shara looks like this is the weather she was designed for!
gooster
Shara is definitely designed for winter weather, nothing gets through that coat!!!! Eddie is the one who feels it most, he gets massive snowballs on his legs whenever he goes out in the snow! He definitely needs stilts!!!
