I've spoken to Malcolm and to the specialists, Anderson Sturgess and Dolly is booked in for her operation on Tuesday 2nd September. I'm to take her in for midday the day before so they can have her settled overnight and get started first thing on the Tuesday.

Just the thought of it is making me feel a bit sick but I've just got to keep convincing myself that its for the best for Dolly

:GroupHug: :flowers: I know it sounds hard but try not to think too much, our imagination can be our own worst enemy!

Wishing Dolly all the special little lady luck she needs

Wishing Dolly all the best

And :GroupHug: for you too - I can't imagine the agonising you've done over making this descision. Can't wait to see the lovely winter pics of all three of yours running round  (well maybe Dolly and Wiggle running round and Sir H sittinng!!)

Will be thinking of Dolly on the 2nd :GroupHug: It's a really hard decision to make Wendy but for what its worth its exactly what I'd do if it were one of my two :GroupHug:

The waiting is definately the worst part - once the 2nd has been and gone Dolly will be back home and looking forward to lots more ball games

Dolly went in for x-rays this afternoon. She's so used to the vets now that she keeps calm and doesn't need anaesthetic, so thats good. Unforurunately, despite her being lively and bouncy, the mass hasn't shrunk anymore, but if anything has moved a bit, like its filling empty spaces.

The other news is that the appointment for the operation has changed. She specialist, Davina, phoned me earlier and explained that her preferred anaethatist isn't available on the 2nd but if I wanted the operation on that date, she could get someone in. She said that the vet she wants is one who is very experienced and she's used to working with and she would prefer that lady. As she said, if there are any complications she'd rather be working alongside someone she know's well.

We had quite a long chat and I'm more reassured now after talking things through with her.

Just got to wait a week longer now.

I'm glad that you have had a long chat with the specialist and you now feel better about things. :GroupHug: It must be such a worrying decision to have to make. I can't wait to see the photos of Dolly and Wiggle bouncing around together when she is better

I'm sorry you have an extra wait, it must be very hard, but I'm sure it's worth it for the extra confidence of getting the best anaesthatist for the operation. Still sending oodles of good thoughts to the lovely Dolly :GroupHug:

Thank you for the ongoing good thoughts for Dolly :flowers: She's been doing really well over the last few weeks and been able to go out and about with Wiggle and Sir H, which has been great.

I'm taking Dolly to the specialists in Winchester on Monday as they want her in to get her settled and will then operate first thing Tuesday morning.

At the moment, I don't know which day Dolly will be able to come home and I don't know how mobile she will be, which I guess will depend on how well the operation goes, whether she has to have rib removed etc.

I'm mostly going to try and stay positive and tell myself she will be fine and the operation will make Dolly better again and not worry about complications or things going wrong for my little girl
