 Hoping there'll be some other meat eaters too? As I'm B&Bing it not camping I won't have anywhere to keep perishables but will contribute to the alcoholic side of things

You're more than welcome to share with us :)

Oh, I am a carnivore, I was just thinking that someone was bound to be bringing carnivorous barbecue equipment (that sounds wrong but you know what I mean)!

I will bring some sossidges and baps, but I don't have the actual cooking stuff.

you can use ours :)

I'm no help with the bbq stuff, cos I dont have one. But I'm thinking of bringing a 5 ft collapsable paddling pool if its hot, so the dogs can have somewhere to cool down, if its warm. I'll also bring a garden version of Connect Four, or us to play with.

Ive not been on a camping trip before so suggestions of what items to bring would be v useful for me. I have a basic idea but knowing me I would probably forget something important.

Think of cooking, drinks, (for you and dog). Plates, cups, cutlery, bottle/tin opener, teatowel, bin bag.

Sleeping, sleeping bag, Jogging suit or something warm in case its cold at night and an extra blanket or two, bed.

Change of clothing, towels and washing stuff, flip flop type shoes for early morning visits to the loo

Torch, mallet for tent pegs, cool box or bag to put food/drink in.

Seating and corkscrew thing to stop doglet from wandering.

Its only for a weekend so I'm sure what you forget someone else will have. :flowers:

I think that a lot of campsites don't like you using disposable barbecues though, because of the potential damage to the grass - I'm sure the last OC camping meetup the camp site had that rule.

Does anyone know if this one allows disposable barbies, before everyone goes out and gets them?

the disposable barbecues are very good and quite cheap.

Remember to place it on stones or earth if you don't want to set the grass alight - I do speak from experience.

lol

I did one once and put it high up so the dogs couldn't get to it, stupidly I put it on the rabbit hutch forgetting the heat also goes through the bottom of the tray ..... turned out to be the most expensive bar-b-q ever cause I had to go out and buy a new rabbit hutch .... doh !!

Can't believe how quickly its coming round.

Am working on the name tags ....

I have just bought the 'screwer in the ground' thing from Pets at Home so that Lady can have some freedom without legging it. It was only £3.99 for anyone who is looking to get one.

Still need to buy a mallet though !

Saying lots of prayers that we have the fine weather we have now at the end of June x

Halfords sell rubber mallets for £1.50, the cheapest one I could find :)

I have a spare folding camping chair if anyone needs one - have also "appropriated" about 30 plastic cups from work so that should be enough for ooooh an hour. I can also bring a FirstAid kit if anyone thinks it a good idea?

Can also provide Cycas with a mallett - well it came with some work furniture but should do the job

I would love to borrow the chair please. I don't have a very big car so what with me, the 2 kids and Lady my space is going to be limited. Thank you

I shall get all the name badges printed off this week. Do a bit each day at work.

Thank you.

Think I need to start making a list of what not to forget.

Also, Cindy mentioned about us all taking some alcohol etc for cocktails :)

that is the most important bit of the trip...................the cocktail evening. :) Cindy makes some great, but lethal, cocktails. On one camping trip I had to be escorted back to my caravan by a very wobbly Cindy and Debs/Whitetiger because being an almost non drinker the cocktails hit the spot very quickly and I was almost legless !! x
