  1. Good luck and look forward to seeing the updates in this wonderful new phase of your lives.
  2. Run free handsome lad. Please don't agonise over his last few hours,he knew how much he was loved
  3. merledogs is there a filter on the water intake hose? Soe machines have them and they get blocked by grit, worth a look.
  4. Can only add to what the others have said - am in awe at what you have achieved - and what you are about to undertake as well.
  5. That is so touching,2 lovely animals being given the chances they deserve.
  6. This is really wonderful news,so exciting and just seems to be the logical step for you all given your obvious love of the animals and people of Sri Lanka.
  7. Looking at the list of new "members" they seem to be really targeting here
  8. Lovely pics.Go Amy it really is a beautiful spot with great walks.Duncan was very reluctant to cross that bridge but did venture across eventually.
  9. Just replied to your message Karen,no laptop at home hence no Refuge (or anything else much either )
  10. Sorry I missed this Jack but I bet you had a fabulous second gotcha day - may you share many many more
  11. What a shame owners are battling with this as well as missing thier pets.Hope it calms down and the dogs are both soon in their rightful home.
  12. Merledogs I want one of those but am worried about condensation? I have a tiny house with no central heating, just a wall hung gas heater in lounge. It does get quite bad condensation already and I'm not sure whether a gas fire like these would make it worse.Am hoping we don't get snow here,I live off a lane at the bottom of a steep hill so there's no way I can get the car out to get to work. It's only a 30 minute walk but that means leaving the dogs even longer than I have to now plus it's along unlit lanes - not much fun at 9.00pm But no extra arrangements made for winter,Trixie suffer from cold terribly and I don't want to put her in a coat in case she catches it on something while I'm out but have one of those things to put in microwave for pets - it really reatins the heat for about 8 hours, and I put that under her blanket.
  13. So very sorry,Jess was so lucky to have known your love, she was obviously a very special dog indeed.
  14. Thanks Alicia, really need to do this and was wondering when this happened.
  15. oh my she is lovely - and Gyp certainly approves as well
  16. It is amazing how it adds up - especially as I had a couple of dreadful shows with very poor results - I'm going to be more careful which ones I attend next year as it's soul destroying spending all day at a show and coming home with just £35.00 - although of course every penny couts,I'd rather there had been a few more
  17. I'm sending the left over samples of dog food that were donated and have an expiry date before June 2012 up to the poundies at Dogs 4 adoption here in Taunton, hope that's OK.The pole gazebo has given up as well, just managed to keep it upright with the aid of several props but it won't be useable again - not safe.
  18. Hi Selina yes it was great fun.Really enjoyed the games,as did the dogs enjoy their prizes.Glad to do it again next year.Lovely show as well, shame the weather spoilt it at times.
  19. Great show,Selina along with some friends organised "doggie games" proceeds of which came to Oldies Club and they raised a fabulous £246.29 Games were very popular and despite some heavy rain at times did very well.I also ran a stall alongside with usual tombolas etc and raised £61.00 - so a good weekend for Oldies Club. This is my last stall of the year (well unless something else comes up) and adding up all my totals am really chuffed to have raised £1000.50p this year.
  20. Thanks, never thought of local florists will trawl the directories later - agility soon.
  21. Just realised I've forgotten a friend's birthday this Sunday,I simply do not have time to go into town for a present so thought I'd cop out and send flowers/plants or something else from online.I am really really stretched financially right now so 20-25 is max I can pay.So who have you used and had good results with,or does anyone else have another idea I could use. She's 82 and I've already done the sponsored dogs etc for other gifts. All ideas gratefully received She is a dog lover and has 2 JRTs but buying them gifts is out as one has food allergies and the other is very toy possessive.
  22. Had a super walk along the beach at Brean with Marge and Keith,Amy and Fly (Bilred on here) and others sure did blow away some cobwebs as it was a bit blustery but was a lovely day and super company Of course I left the camera in the car didn't I.And it wasn't Trixie who disgraced me being stroppy it was Duncan
  23. so so disapppointed with today's results. It was very badly arranged, there were several stalls around the dog show area whcih was in a field adjacent to main site - and there were a few others, mine included up around the main buildings.Very few people came up from the ring area and those that did had spent their money on the stalls there.Last year I took over £120,this year just £36.50 And it poured with rain - yet when I got home just 5 miles away it was bone dry and they had no rain all day Very strong winds cracked the corner of the gazebo,so if next Saturday is bad weather I won't be able to do the Feniton show unless there is no wind at all as I doubt it will hold up much longer. Obligatory stall photo and Trixie and Duncan in rather close proximity to the rabbits - the one they are eyeing up was bigger than Trixie I did erect a screen to stop them eyeing it up but the rabbit wasn't the slightest bit concerned.
