Oh I do so hope there's some pics of Mrs Wiccs to come next  :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Knew there was a reason for leaving lens cap on

Had an absolutely brilliant day. Lady T was a TOTAL STAR      She turned at the gate away from home, despite being on the return journey, and walked away down the track again, more than once. She walked with me/Sarah walking next to her and was gracious enough not to show off how horses are better designed for walking than humans. Absolute dream girl.

Mrs Wiccs has officially lost the 'nervous novice', and Lady T has a luxury living pad worthy of her status. This team will go far!!!

And who was it initiating a spot of bareback riding! It was like being a kid again and a very happy one at that.

Teddy Bear deserves a mention for being extremely well behaved (if not a bit dim  ) as horse and rider escort. Stopping in front of a moving horse to roll on your back is perhaps not the safest move

A fab. day, thank you Sarah :flowers:

   Im so jealous you got to ride Tara!!!

Run free Unique. :GroupHug:

Well done for lesson San  , I'll try and book an afternoon off then I won't be rushing to get back to the dogs.

Yeah for cantering round a corner Loki!!

New boy is absolutely stunning Alison!!!!

Had a lovely long weekend (was poorly sick yesterday so off work...not that poorly sick I couldn't spend time with Kane though!!  ). Rode out with the fella who has gorgeous Jasper (big coloured cob) on saturday, he showed me some of the rides round the estate, couldn't do much cos they were shooting in one part and playing cricket in another...the horses found cricket extreamly interesting and watched for a while!!

Sunday the show was on...I'm definately not designed for showing, helped one girl tack up her horse cos they called her class early and she wasn't ready, and realised the amount of work involved!! Took Kane out for a hack by myself instead!! He napped going out again, so I had to get off but he managed to go round 4 fields on his own and didn't rush back.

Can't believe I'm going to say this............I actually think he's too thin!!!!!!!!!!  I know he's not too thin but he's alot thinner than he's ever been before, I can feel his ribs and his bum bones are easy to feel. Someone that hasn't seen him for a while did say she thought he was 'extreamly' thin!!!! Bloody horses!!!

Tara  I love her ears

Wow Jacky a thin Kane is a new challenge  Our horses are never happy unless they are making us scratch our heads over something

Hmmm hacking with a man with a gorgeous coloured cob, anything we need to know, do we need pictures :D

My saddle is slipping back again :( I spoke to saddler today who is now blaming Loki's shoulders and that he doesn't have a "girth groove" Can I find a breastplate to fit him, can I heck

Bumble has bu**ered up his back end :( he was prating around in the field like a complete idiot and now his back end is very stiff and cant keep up with the front if you get what i mean. Hes so stiff coming out the stable of a morning that he can hardly walk, once hes been moving for a few minutes he loosens up a lot but obviously isn't 'right'. The sun is shining instead of the downpours we've had the last few days so hopefully tonight him and his field mate will stay out so that Bumble wont completely seize up. Lucy Spooner is over in 2wks time and i spoke to her last night and i've started gentle massage on his legs to hopefully help. The vets have suggested something like bute but i'm not too keen as the minute Bumble feels better he'll start acting the fool again  I tell you, only idiots have animals especially horses!!!

 No nothing to tell about fella with lovely coloured cob...he's in his late 60's and happily married..although he does have a grand-daughter who is at university that 'hopefully' will be riding Kane for me!! I want to get someone who is a confident capable rider who will hack him out over the winter and school him properly (cos no matter what I'll never school properly cos I hate it!!). Also it will do his confidence good to have another person riding him. So hopefully next week I'll meet her and we'll have a chat. She's come highly recommended as she rides for another lady (who unfortunately has now had to sell her horse).

I can't belive your saddle isn't sorted still!!! I can't imagine how frustrating it must be!! Naughty Loki for having no shoulders!!!!

:GroupHug: Poor Bumble, hope he feels better soon. Hopefully the sun on his back will help as well.

Hmmmm - not that I am cynical or anything, but, I have lost all faith in saddlers!! Can you text me at about 5 - to remind me to ask Sarah about breast plates!!  Rolo has a forward grith groove - that is an issue as well apparently - depending on which saddler you are talking to!

Tara is looking great!! My caption would be "You put your right arm in, you put your right arm out" ...........okey cokey and all that!

So glad that Kane and you are so happy :)

Sorry that Bumble has done himself a mischief - hopefully he will be back to normal soon :)

I will do that now

Ironically my saddler is very hard to get hold of, I called to arrange for his boss to come out for a second opinion, and guess who answered the phone  Oh yes so I bottled it and spoke to him instead  I think someone on the yard is arranging for boss man to come out, so I will get round it that way eventually.

Jacky, apparantly Loki has had a lot of growth to his shoulders in four weeks hence the shoulder problem

Lots of get well wishes to Bumble :GroupHug: :flowers:

Clare, you must be totally  Hopefully the breast plate will do the trick (when you manage to find one now you're looking for one!).

Hope Bumble is more comfortable? :GroupHug: Would it be possible to leave him out 24 hrs? It would stop him being silly in the field when he is out and I swear on my life it's kept Squeak as mobile as he is. He is actually getting better at the grand old age of 28! The farrier even commented on how much easier he is to hold his feet for trimming now. He is on bute every day (has been for about 8 years now) but it's not enough to make him feel like Superhorse, just enough to stop the hobbles and make him mroe comfortable.

Hope the potential new rider works out Jacky. You do sound 'happier'

PS. Mrs Wiccs, did I manage to delete them all? Am gutted! Very sorry. Tell Lady T she can give me 10 hard head shoves against the fence for scratching as my punishment.

Well Bumble and Bijou stayed out last night but when i got to the field Bumble was struggling to stand up as he'd been laying down :( Hes back end just wasn't working properly so the vets are coming out late this morning/ lunchtime. I really hoped staying out would improve things but as he appears to be getting worse i want him checked out. Once hes loosened up he is a lot better and i got told yesterday that Bumble was cantering around and bucking although he obviously isn't completely sound, he is hes own worst enemy :( Have a feeling the vets may want him on box rest but he goes mad when he cant get out and hates being alone.

I am happier Lesley. I can't believe how much more relaxed I am there and the time I spend there is totally with Kane. Nothing against Lynn and the family of course but I did spend more time leaning against gates than 'doing' with Kane. He's become a different horse too, I know it's unlikely to last once he's totally settled but he comes to me in the field and he actually seems to enjoy being with me. The grazing might not be fanastic there but the other people are so chilled out and you are just allowed to get on with what you want without 100 questions why you are doing it!!!

Anyway yesterday I jumped....a whole course!!! Got the the stables and the YO's daughter was jumping, she was just finishing as I got to the school so I thought I'd take him in the jumping field and see what he did. He's never seen big wings and fillers before so he was abit silly but nothing serious. I did have to go round and make all the jumps alot smaller  even though Vicky is only 12 and her pony's 12hh ish...they were still too big for me!!! So warmed up and took him over a little cross jump (which had a water trough underneath that I hadn't seen til we jumped it so luckily Kane wasn't bothered!!), then did a couple more....then did a mini- course of 7......one of which I'd not been able to bring down in size so it was around 4 foot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   He was heading for it and I didn't want to pull him up so just closed my eyes...and yes I literally did close my eyes!!!

Vicky came in after and was full of praise for him....I've asked if one day she'd like to jump him to see what he capable of with a experienced jumper but she said she's not sure cos he's very big for her and he looks strong!!! The speed her pony's wizz round and she was concerned about his strength!!!
