  1. Hi everyone. As you know I'm very much a lurker these days but after seeing your posts about Ukraine etc I thought I'd introduce my new dog (we lost Izzie 3years ago now) .Adi is a Romanian rescue, I'd been watching him for a while then the owner of rescue was appealing for help as she was taking in/helping Ukrainian dogs. It was the push I needed and 2weeks ago I flew to Southampton to collect Adi. He's 8months old , only 32 CMS high but long and stocky (thinking daxi cross?). He's scared of strangers especially men which we are working on and there is improvement already. He's pretty much already house trained and the last few days we've got the typical/dreaded 😂 puppy behaviour. Think he's making up for lost time lol.
  2. I remember kazz, Redditch lady well. Obviously never met her in real life but she was always lovely. So sad to hear about her . Sincere condolences to her family and friends.
  3. So sorry Philip. Rest in peace Sue xx
  4. Havent posted for a long time now , i just lurk. Just want suzeanna to know i am thinking of her and all her family. Ive been following her story hoping she'd be ok. Rachael xx
  5. Can't edit post to add that Izzie is on the gold which has tumeric in and at £15 a bottle doesn't break the bank
  6. Not often I post just lurk theses days but thought I'd mention this in case it's any help to anyone. Izzie has been very bad lately so much so that she was pencilled in for pts as her arthritis was so bad. A friend told me to try cbd drops and I'm happy to say it's helped her vastly. It 'll never cure her but her pain killers were at maximum and she was still in lots of pain continually panting and pacing. Now that has almost stopped and she's sleeping much better, in fact I wake her up of a morning instead of her being up pacing of a night. These drops are fantastic for her and are for human use as well. www.simplycbd.co.uk. Happy Christmas everyone xx
  7. Jayne , im so sorry its so damn hard to do and also a decision im facing soon as izzies arthritis has got so bad. Thinking of you and loads of hugs sent.
  8. No I havent tried a magnetic collar for Izzie, is there one that is better to get?
  9. Hi everyone, not been around much but been reading back. Hope all poorly people are better soon and fully agree that the stubborn attitude keeps you going! I must apologise to yantan as I always assumed you and Ruby were a couple, sorry x My izzie is still going (9and a half now) but a few months back has been diagnosed with chronic joint disease, her hips are so bad the vet descibed them as set in concrete! Shes on onsior tablets and doing well at the moment but shes aged rapidly due to her joints.
  10. Sorry forgot to send hugs to Suzeanna, hope all goes well for you xx
  11. Thanks, think its sorted now.Still dont know exactly where she is but apparently shes been rehomed to a home as a companion. Hope you better soon Griff
  12. Its not as easy and straightforward unfortunately. I was recently looking at buying a horsein england , all passported etcand a vet happened to be on yard and when he heard mare was possibly sold he said hed look over her passport to ensure its all in order. Straight away he spotted its a fake so now sale is off why they try to sort it out and ensure shes not stolen.
  13. Sorry to jump in so rudely after not being here for ages but I know someone desperately trying to trace their old horse that went for retirement at millhouse sanctuary . The mare has vanished, she was there in october but now gone and the owner of sanctuary is being far from helpful and wony say whats happened. Any one have any ideas what to do where to search.thanks
  14. Hi, not been here for quite a while. How is everyone doing?
  15. Well Bumble our pony managed to carry on for a good few weeks extra but today he was helped to the Bridge Fields to run free with no pain. Heartboken doesnt cover it. A previous owner has just contacted me and said i'd got his age wrong as he was at least 30yrs old now whereas we thought he was 26/27 ish..
  16. suzeanna and jayne, so sorry xx. We're having a tough time as well, Bumble our pony is not well and decision has been made that when he lets us know hes ready we're letting him go
  17. Happy New Year everyone. 2014 was a complete shite year for me so hoping for better things to come but we'll see lol.
  18. Snow, so pleased for you xx Owl, we could do with you and Wispa over here, theres a min schnauzer on the loose 2 weeks today and hes nervous and roaming all over island of a night and doesnt seem to have an established area hes sticking to, very hard trying to find him
  19. I know what you mean Snow, have been full of woe myself until i got chatting to a guy at work and he was saying how hes dreading christmas as his wife died recently so it'll be his and his 11yr old son first christmas without her. That gave me the kick up the ass i needed and even though i'm still tending to still be woeful i just remember him and what they'll be going through. Hope you're ok Alex
  20. Owl, could your Aunt spend the odd day or so 'visiting' so she can see your mums is a nice place and she might like it. If its done as a visit theres no pressure and might work? I hurt my finger a month ago now, its still very swollen and hurts like feck, think i might have broken it but at £44 to go to doctors i just cant afford it ...
  21. Just been reading back.....Jersey??? whats wrong with us lovely lot in far nicer Guernsey
  22. My gang of 3 are doing well but a bit of a story if you know of laminitics on happy hoof! We have really been struggling with Bumble being permantly footy and 'dragging' a back hoof when walking, it was getting to the stage where i wondered how much longer he'd be around for. Long story short i asked a question about happy hoof on our local equestrian facebook page, i had 2 seperate people telling me to get Bumble off happy hoof immediately as their laminitics cant tolerate it. I put him on hi fi lite as suggested and stopped h.hoof straight away and we have had no lameness/footiness in 10 wks, the dragging hoof stopped within a few days!!! A much happier pony whos started being ridden again and thinks hes a racehorse lol. I'm not saying h. hoof is bad for all but i never considered the fact that a lammi feed can cause problems, even the farrier said his feet have improved! I know its not a cure as Bumble does seem early cushings but its so nice having our cheeky sod back lol
  23. So sorry to read your news Griff Had to laugh at fox boy Timmy
