Yantan Posted January 26, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 26, 2016 Our river rose by a metre in just one hour and is continuing to rise. When I came back from our walk the properties currently drying out from last time were being sandbagged. The kids were all being sent home from school much to their glee. Trees, branches and twigs all laying across our path on the walk. Archie was glad to have his coat on. Despite wearing full waterproofs the monsoon like rain penetrated through and I was wet down to my bra! Drain covers were lifting as the drains below overflowed and/or are blocked. The environment agency workers were dashing around working frantically to clear them. There is loads of standing water on the roads around town, some only passable by driving on the crown of the road. The fields surrounding the town are once again under water.
