I have been a poorly squirrel today , I have spent a lot of time in the bathroom with a bucket as I was poorly at both ends at the same time which is probally more info that you all need really

In the morning I have a 7 hour round trip with a major department stores corporate responsibility team to discuss some joint works so I hope I am feeling a bit better by then !

re spelling and grammer , mines shocking and its something I hate about myself because I know many people judge my intelligence based on my writing. I am dyslexic which was not diagnosed till I was 15 and I failed most of my exams. I hated school because I felt stupid every single bloody day there , I still recall my primary school teachers throwing a dictionary at me.

I have learnt more about English grammar from my Sinhala teacher here in the last 6 months than I ever recall learning at school. For me learning a 2nd language is incredibly useful and very interesting.

Moaning :tired:

Jazz - hope your stomach is okay now.

I'm in a bit of a sticky situation at work with one of my projects and I don't know how to get out of it. Need to do some more investigating but this could throw a real spanner in the works and bring everything to a halt. Today will be quite telling. Don't even want to think about what happens if I can't resolve it.

Hope poorly people are feeling better.

The funny thing with their/ there etc is I can clearly remember my dad teaching them to me when I was 10 because the teacher at school said we would just pick them up as we grew older. Even the grammar school I went to didn't teach English very well and I spent years struggling with it. I still don't fully understand punctuation but will look it up when I need to.

It is home time, I am very excited about going home. Just need to finish packing and we leave in about an hour / hour and a half to head back to the UK :-)

Safe journey home Mary :flowers:

Could you not ask someone for help Alex? You shouldn't have to tackle big work issues on your own :GroupHug:

Glad the meeting went well Sam - Hope you are better soon :flowers:

Nails and eyebrows this morning - I can't believe how quick this week has gone (and how much stuff I still need to do before I go away tomorrow  )

I hope your tum soon gets back to normal Sam, and yours too Jazz.

Alex..is there anyone you can discuss your problem with at work, or is it something only you can sort out? Hope you have a safe trip home Murtle, I think you'll need to turn the heating up as the weather is meant to be drier but colder tomorrow.

The doctor is sending me for a mammogram and ultrasound..can't wait, nothing like getting your boobs squashed between two metal plates! She said pain in the breast is usually due to a cyst, but she could feel a small lump and I have a hot spot. I do have naturally lumpy boobs (sounds delightful, but they are lumps that can only be felt, not seen :) ) so the lump could just be "normal", but as she said, better safe than sorry. We are lucky with this surgery, as all the GP's I've seen there would rather send you to a specialist if they are even slightly concerned than just sit back and see what happens, unlike some of the places I've read about in the papers.

ive had no sleep and stomach is still bad, 4 imodium hasnt worked

General accepted method of dealing with bad tummies here is to let it all out , Doctors have told me its best to let your body expel what it needs but to keep your fluid levels up and take rehydration solution ( or make your own )

Chemists also recommend this drug for the cramps http://www.buscopan.com

I will add that Sri Lankan Doctors also advise not to wash your hair at night as you can get sick / get a fever or in my case get low blood pressure , or advise not to bathe for 3 days after vaccinations

so maybe you should double check my advice by talking to a health care professional whose knowledge is less based on water and more on medical science

I recall being told the same thing by a Harley Street specialist over 30 years ago when I was working in London and got an awful case of food poisoning. I was then telling this to a friend with tummy problems a couple of years ago. She said her GP had just said the very same to her.

By the way - just in case anyone thinks I must have had loads of money to be able to see a Harley St doctor! I was working in a posh hotel at the time and it was hotel management that called in the doctor and the hotel paid the bill.

I have done some work but my hands are really sore today and my shoulder started troubling me so I have had to take a break. I might leave it now until tomorrow. No sense in knocking myself out and then finding I maybe can't do any more for a couple of days.

Alex are you around? How goes your day?

Love the advice Sam, though I am still told not to wash my hair and let it dry overnight as I will get a cold or a fever so I guess that advice is traditional! However, I do wash my hair at night and wake up with it wet sometimes but am yet to get a cold or fever from it! It used to really worry my ex MIL that I would do that or go out with wet hair as I would clearly catch my death of cold in the 30degree Mauritian heat!

Hope your hands and shoulder are feeling better soon Yantan xxx
