June's Jolly Jawings

I have been reading a thread on MSE for plus sized ladies and there was a highly recommended company selling really fabulous range of sizes for Bras and tights so I've just had a little look - totally wonderful company by the looks of it http://thebigbloomerscompany.co.uk/INDEX.html EXACTLY the sorts of measurements for sizing that I would like to see on every clothing site. What has really impressed me is their range of disposable hospital gowns and pants - not that I need either at the moment, but I might just buy a pack of each and keep them in a drawer "just in case" as the last time I had to go into a day surgery unit and they gave me some to wear it wasn't pretty.... I managed to pull the waistband completely off the knickers struggling to get them on and ended up being allowed to keep my own on lol and the gown exposed more than it covered :confused02: I'm also going to get some of their pop socks as they go up to a 20" calf which is bigger than mine so hopefully they wont end up either cutting of the circulation or rolling down like the standard sized ones do.

We will be at the Dogs Trust Fun Day tomorrow at Margam Park so please come and say hello if you are going (we will be on the Deaf Dog Network stand - nice red gazebo to stand out from the crowd!)

Buddydogs  I love Margam Park - used to live in Port Talbot and my ex bf lived in Taibach so very close by

Tedddddd :partytime:

RMF : Wet and miserable here today.

Alex I wish I had seen your menu last night as I would have invited myself down to help you eat it.

Well done Molly and Glen   I'm glad to hear your mum's dog got a rescue space and has a new home lined up.

Michelle I look forward to seeing the new kitchen. How's the arm and hand?

Aw Ted

Buddyboy what a good idea that little fence is. I shall show this to Ruby as she wants to take Archie camping again as he loved it so. A little fenced area for him would be ideal. Where did you get the stakes?

Oh Owl I'm so sorry the new car isn't up to snuff. How disappointing. I hope you finally get sorted with a reliable car soon :flowers:

Still raining here, it's been heavy and persistent for a couple of days now. Hello summer

Oops I forgot to say thanks to Snow for that link. I have trouble getting good fitting bras so I am off to peruse their stock. I know just what you mean about hospital gowns. I was dreading going for my first breast cancer screening a few years ago as I had previously accompanied a friend and saw that the hospital just issued a -one-size-fits-all-except-Marion gown. However when I attended my first screening they had abandoned the gowns and every one just removed their bras and popped their own tops back on. Hurrah!

Marion - the dogs helped me eat it  (well what very little I left for them).

Re the stakes, you can get those from B&Q. That's the stuff I use to fence off my lawn over winter so the mutts can't get on it. The wire you can get from B&Q too, although I use plastic mesh which works just as well but is easier to roll up than the plastic covered wire. If you don't mind the colour the safety fencing is cheaper.

Lovely to see Ted back where he belongs

Sorry the car has gone kaput Owl. Can you not send back to whoever you bought it from as a dud and get your money back? Hope you manage to get something reliable sorted soon

Weather atrocious here. I daren't go out at the moment so Martyn is going to have to plant a few things out for me and dig up a few trees that shouldn't be where they are. Hand still has a slight swelling that only I would notice as it feels like a little pad so should be gone tomorrow. Arm is back to normal size and I can see my wrist bone again. I look like I've been stamped with some bizarre thing around the site of the bite. Still gets fidgety and the inner arm is sore to touch but all heading the right way. I didn't realise how serious it can be and left it for a day and a half before doing anything

Car started up ok so Chrissie escorted me from mum's house down to the computer diagnostic mechanic man who is a friend of hers. We had one blip on way when I struggled, but got there safely. Mechanic drove car around with computer plugged in to it. Fine at first then started misfiring, computer showed what problem was, a sensor which needs replacing. Have left it there and should have it later this week. He thinks it is a good car with just a simple fault. The loss of power is due to the car being put by its computer into "limp mode" which is a safety procedure to get you to stop driving it, but which gives you time to get off the road.

I didn't want to take it back to where I got it from unless it truly was a dud, wanted it checked out by someone else first. Glad I did. I paid very little for it so don't mind getting a bit of work done on it.

We have not gone tracking today as it is blowing gales from all directions, and it will be an air scent job. An old farm collie with poor sight went missing 3 weeks ago and we are hoping Wispa may pick up his scent if he is still mooching about the fields. On Tuesday sunny weather is forecast with light winds so we will have a better chance.

That's more encouraging news about the car Owl. Good luck to you and Wispa for Tuesday.

Jayne I thought I'd post this to give you ideas for your wedding. It's worth watching just for the 2 owld dears who make a disapproving exit part way through.

DT show was rather windy so we used plan B which was my car as the gazebo!! same fencing as the caravan around the back so the dogs could get in and out. I use the self supporting stuff @ 4ft because my beasts just plough through the safety netting - but other people use that with great success.... (4ft is so they can go onto back legs to be fussed by visitors to the stall but not put paws on the top of it and crush it). I got some stakes from B&Q but just use them at corners (they are just over 4ft tall) and then in between use electric fencing posts from the farm co-op which are much cheaper (and easier to push into the ground - do not need a mallet).

Glad your car is possibly an easy fix Owl :)

That video is brilliant Marion - hopefully the man of my dreams I meet en route to Mexico will approve

Ted had his first hydro session today, the hydrotherapists were amazed at how well he is doing :) Amber swam first, then Charlie swam and Ted was last. As Amber absolutely loves it and is a crazed loon, we left her harness on today so she could jump in and out of the pool whilst the others were swimming :)

My little brother is going to Turkey today - his flight has been delayed by 2 hours, so they don't leave until 8.55 now (instead of 6.55). I have my iPad ready to track him :)

I had a bite on my left hand once which caused it and it wasn't until it was nearly up to my armpit that I went to A&E with a sausage shaped arm. They shoved me full of intravenous antibiotics, gave me about three different types to take home (12 tablets a day) and told me if it went as far as my armpit to go back urgently. I soon went to the doc next time it happened!

Love the video Maz, especially the old dears and the vicar having a freak out

We've been camping and have been soooo lucky with the weather. It rained overnight both night but during the day we stayed mainly dry and were graced with a bit of sun. Louie wasnt playing ball with photos in the tent so her is Billy Boo surveying the field opposite where they were setting up an agility show.

Georgina I hope you had a fan time at Margam Park. Our memories of that show in the past was the wind which destroyed our gazebo completely.
