Have not been around for ages :) nice to see alot of familiar names.

I am now a "Door Supervisor" Or Bouncer, I am self employed and work keeps me ver busy, especially in the summer with all the festivals and events.

My dogs are as mad but as loving as ever and they love the forest - so how is everyone - seems like forever

It's a tough time for all of us when our parents get very sick and are approaching the end and we ladies do seem to have to do more of the not so nice jobs and also support all of those around us :sad02:

When a man tells you to step up to the plate it usually means they want you to be the responsible adult with everything because they cannot cope with anything. Tell him to step up and shoulder his share because right now you are carrying everybody.

Tried to catch you to give you a number of a bird and wildlife rescue at Woodseats, Owl .. but you'd already gone. Hope you didn't get blown away en route to Lincoln!

Thanks, I should have thought to ask you if you knew anywhere, but I doubt if it would have made much difference to the end result. I got the chick to rescue but then it suddenly keeled over. The rescue lady said it was only 3 or 4 days old and probably died due to stress of being handled and moved, and it may have been a weak chick anyway. If it had been a bit older it would have stood a better chance of survival. I'm glad I gave it a chance, as otherwise it would have died of cold or been pecked by the crows which were hanging around in the last of the daylight. Run free baby pheasant!

It was very blowy on the road. Glad I'm still driving the Escort and haven't switched to the van yet. Van is still sitting in the drive while I work out how to get the driving seat a bit further forward. We are going to meet Wispa's enormous pals Archie and Sid for a walk in a little while. If in danger of being blown off my feet I can always hang on to one of them
