dirtychicken
Can you take someone with you who can act as a second pair of ears for what the vet says? That's why I always take Sophie with me I get so wrapped up in the animals, that I miss most of what they say but she was a brilliant memory Don't worry about phoning the vets to ask for a recap of what they told you this morning though, Marge, I bet they get it allllllll the time They must expect people to be more concerned with their pet than taking in the fine details of what they're being told Meantime, gigantic to you a gentler one for your handsome boy
buddyboy
Marge as you know Bud had fluid problems which resulted in drains and eventually surgery to stop the build up being inside the pericardium. I would imagine if you were to be referred to a specialist it would be the same as Bud used in Kenilworth - I have absolute faith in them. If you want to ring me you have my number.... Peachy
I will be thinking lots of very good thoughts for Spike and I really hope that he feels better when some of the fluid has drained away.
houndzrus
thanks for all the advice and info It is so much better to have someone with you, but unfortunately all the people I know are at work or too far away. Thanks for the offer Judith, at least the thought was there Keith comes along if he can but it's not possible very often with the job he does. Mrs Mop, that must have been very strange having two different members of your household with the same problem I'll ask more questions when I go again, I think that this vet forgets that I'm not medically qualified ,so just saying it his heart doesn't mean a lot to me. It's like at work when we get referred people with "mental health issues" It could be anything When I got home (After I had mopped up the lake he'd made for me) I made him a stew with mince, pilchards and veg. I'm sure he will love it here's a couple of pictures of him. The fluid goes from under his chin down to his chest. When he stretches it looks a lot less, and it does vary in size. Last night it was double this size.

merledogs
You still look hansum Spikey, even with your double chin Marge Might be worth ringing and leaving a message for the vet to call you, when you are armed with a pen and pad so you can write stuff down.
