Goodbye My Darling Stanley

My brave beautiful boy finally gave up his fight last Tuesday morning. A puppy farm baby, he had been ill all his life but the stubborn little sod defied all the vets' prognosis and made it to almost 14. He'd had megaoesophagus from birth, hypothyroidism from middle age, then went through several ops to remove cancerous tumours in his old age. Through it all he was cheeky, stubborn, funny, naughty and the most loving, loyal little boy you could ever want to have in your life. He welcomed countless fosters and new additions to the family and Tiffy and Kai are missing him badly. He got me through some horrendous times in my life with staffie snuggles and snogs and I don't know how I'm going to manage without him. Even to the end he thought of me and made the decision to go in his own time - I didn't have to make the decision we all dread. It's taken me a week to be able to post this but my darling boy deserves his farewell tribute. Goodbye my beloved Stanley, you made my life so wonderful and my heart is breaking but I feel privileged to have had you in my life. I hope Betty and Maisie were waiting for you and you are all running free together again.

I don't think people realize just now wonderful staffie's are until they get one. That beautiful staffie smile and Stanley has certainly got one of those. I'm sure you will miss him loads, but it will get easier, it just takes times. :GroupHug: :GroupHug:

Sleep tight Stanley, you beautiful boy
