griff
I guess you would breath deeper the more you exert yourself
Jazz
that's what hes saying, but day to day, if the way you breathe keeps you alive, why would you breathe deeper and feel dizzy?
suzeanna
If you breathe properly your rib cage should rise and fall, a lot of people only breathe from the top of their lungs. When I was in hospital last time for my lumpectomy they weren't going to let me go home as I didn't have enough oxygen in my blood. I muttered and she said she'd try again in fifteen minutes, I spent the time doing really deep breathing and she was happy with the result that time and let me out. suzeanna
There's a vid on YouTube of a cat watching a horror film..it's hilarious! I showed my husband the cc of the form I signed for the consultant giving permission for my operation. He literally turned pale when he read all she'd written, especially the "chronic pain, shoulder movement restriction, possible infection" bit. He's seriously questioning now whether I should go ahead. I'm trying to act unconcerned but inside I'm petrified.
gooster
Consent forms are full of the worst case scenarios Suzeanna. The cataract surgery one has all kinds of risks and complications as standard (including sight loss, losing the eye etc). I have to write extra complications down that are specific to the patient dependent on any pathology they may have. I always compare consent forms to the little information leaflets you get in drug packets - if you read them, you wouldn't take them, but the drugs do you good. If you are concerned, I'd ask your consultant if you are a high risk patient. They will usually have a good idea of how straightforward your procedure will be
griff
Suzeanna, i agree with gooster legally they have to tell you what could happen and say worst case scenarios..in all honesty that is a very very small pecentage...i am very confident you will not be in that percentage because you are awesome and nice!!!
