Thanks Jayne. I like a book that grabs you from the outset too. I just wondered if the book was like the series as I found that a very slow burner and it seems as though it is. Had it not been for other people telling me to stick with the tv series as it perked up around episode 5 or 6 I would given up before then and missed out on two (or is it three?) great series.

I did give up with the Tv series, however that was because the first series disappeared from on demand after I had watched the first 2 episodes  My brother raves about how good it is, he says it's as good as 24 (which I find very difficult to believe, as 24 is a totally different show and totally awesome  )

Jayne someone had the first series recorded and lent us it on a memory stick - do you want me to see if they still have it? We ended up loving it after thinking it was bloody awful to start with. We have loads of the 24 series recorded on DVD and are about to undertake a mammoth winter viewing. Game of Thrones pulled us in much as 24 did but other than that you are right - there is nothing else to compare it to G of T

Thanks Marion, I think my brother has the first season on Blu ray, so I may have to go and watch it round at mum and dad's (as they have a blu ray player) :flowers:

Have tidied my wardrobe today, found a pair of shorts from my pre gym days - they are mahoooosive on me now! I took a picture of them compared to a pair I took to Mexico with me this year! It shocked me the difference in them

I would NEVER have the confidence to wear the micro shorts over here, but abroad is another matter

Thanks guys :flowers: I was so shocked when I found them and tried them on! You could probably fit 2 of me in the top ones now :)

Busy day today, all nice things though. Got my haircut at 1pm and have my gym classes and the dogs to walk and Blue to do as well. Am also going to try and find somewhere to park in Wilmslow on the way back from the hairdresser as I am working there in a couple of weeks and have no idea about parking around there. I figured since I am driving past anyway, I would check it out today :)

Morning all.

I am pressing on with my Christmas shopping today and hoping to get it finished - apart from my Refuge Secret Santa's! I do everything over the internet and find it so much better and stress free than driving to Carlisle or Workington, finding a parking space, trudging round, getting annoyed at other shoppers and then coming home with only half of what I went for. The big stores like Debenhams and Bhs offer free delivery and I can find more unusual, unique stuff online too and look out for bargainous prices :)

Morning. Freezing here too - had to scrape the car this morning.

I need to start Christmas shopping. Am most impressed that you're pretty much finished Yantan!

The animals in the Summerfield household aren't having a very good time of it at the moment. Kia's still got the skin infection - she's now been prescribed medicated baths twice a week as well as antibiotics, which she is not going to be impressed with. And much more worrying, Zooey collapsed during the night. When I woke up this morning, he was struggling to breath and couldn't move :( He's been to the vet, who basically said his heart is failing and there isn't a huge amount they can do. He's had a diuretic shot to try to help clear the fluid from his lungs, and he's booked in to see the heart specialist this afternoon. I think I might have to be making that very tough decision :mecry: :mecry: Its not helping that Zooey is my husband's cat - he had him before we met - and Paul is in France and not back until tonight. I know he really wants a chance to see Zooey again, but not if it means he's suffering. It just makes the decision harder :(

Aw Sophie I feel for you with your situation with Zooey :GroupHug: I hope he responds to the diuretic and that Paul does get back in time to see him again.

I believe I have finished my Christmas shopping apart from my Secret Santa entries and as that is due to close tomorrow I will get my shopping for that sorted over the next week :)

It's not freezing here. In fact it is quite unseasonably warm. I am sitting here in a polo shirt with bare arms and not feeling the least bit cold. My mate in the USA sent a photo yesterday of their first snow fall not that it was much but it still made me jealous.
