Well done Molly, clever girl :)

Good luck for tomorrow Logan xx

I was woken up this morning by Archie licking my hand. This is his way of telling me he'd like to be stroked and have an ear rub. We got up soon after, he did his usual garden patrol before he came in to claim his tangly twist and then went back to bed for a nap. It's such a hard life.

Morning all.

Thinking of you Alex

Well done to Molly & good luck for Logan

I am going to visit James in hospital later - 1 week after the surgery to reconstruct his leg. I understand they are pleased with progess. I need to pull myself together a bit as still very upset after seeing my parents last night. Dad's had a bad few days, he's coughing terribly & feeling a lot weaker. He was talking about not being sure how long he's got - not a nice conversation to have. I'd like to murder the neighbour who has sent them a solicitors letter re fence & a boundary dispute - we could really do without that hassle right now!

Morning everyone. Well done Molly, and wishing the best of luck to Logan.

Whizzie, that is not nice of the neighbour, do they know how ill your dad is?

I have been chatting with mum's social worker. Mum has been very chatty and at first glance appeared clear minded but when asked about her home and family she said she lived in a flat with her husband and had one daughter. She appears to be stuck somewhere around 1949. Social worker has called in a geronto-psychiatric specialist. On the one hand I would like to get her home as I feel she would reconnect with the present if in her beloved house. On the other hand, if she has forgotten my stepdad's tragic death I would hate for her to have to remember it all over again. Hope the geronto-person is good and can work out the best way to go. My sister returns from Sri Lanka this weekend, will ask her to come and visit which might help. Another day and I should be fit to visit and over the infectious stage of the bug I had.

I don't think anyone would blame you for being self asborbed Alex, we've most of us been there. :GroupHug:

Well done Molly, that calls for extra treats!

Owl you probably know a lot more about the subject than I do, but from what I've read or seen on tv, the opinion of the moment seems to be if someone is living in the past, get in there with them rather than trying to haul them back into the present. Some homes and wards are putting up pictures of things back in the forties or earlier, and one place even has managed to set up a look alike shop with all the old products and packaging. So long as your mother is happy, then does it really matter what decade her head is in? I hope you soon feel back to full fitness, my daughter had a week off work with a dreadful cough, aches all over and going hot and cold and she's been back at work a week now but still coughing.
