blackmagic
Having had a dog who suffered from crumbling discs causing inflamation I know what you are going through. It is so hard when you feel so helpless. Lots of positive thoughts for Tess and for you.

JulesB
Vet just rang to say she's improved again in the last 24 hours, and he's very encouraged by it. She can stand up on her own now, and walk a little bit, and she's eaten some food. She's still in pain if they manipulate her neck though. The next step is to take her off the steroid-based painkillers and see how she does on an everyday painkiller - I'm guessing he means metacam or something. He wants to keep her on the same regime until Monday. The orthopaedic specialist will be back in and he will take a look at her then. I'm stil not allowed to see her, which is hard but I know it's for the best. So, I'm cautiously hopeful. Trying my best not to get any false hopes up but I think my tough old bird wants to come home. Thanks again for all your good wishes.

blackmagic
glad to hear she is improving. It took six weeks of rest for my bitch to fully recover and not yelp everytime she moved her neck. She lived in the spare bedroom for that time.
