Sophie, I know Canada is a huge place but is there a chance your sis and friend can support each other too? :GroupHug: Enjoy your time off.

They're in the same city (my home town) :) Will suggest to my sis giving my friend a call to see how she's getting on.

I am joining in on the take-away friday night dinners - pizza for me :) OH has gone to Amsterdam for a boys weekend to celebrate his 30th birthday, so am having a lazy night on the sofa - currently watching CSI NY.

I'm back. Did this bit of sunshine come with me or has it been here for a while?

I saw a manatee, I saw a manatee, I saw a manatee!! Best bit of the hols and I have some rubbish pix of him/her on my phone but OH has some on the whizzy camera. I was so overcome I just kept saying, "Oh look, oh look" and then I had a little chat with him/her which caused him to produce a huge, very smelly fart.(so it must have been a him) Well, I thik it was the chat, maybe they just fart like that anyway.

I'm so jealous ! I think they're one of the most beautiful magical creatures, they always make me go a bit leaky for some reason rolleyes.gif

Enjoy your reunion tomorrow flowers.gif

I've asked for Ben to go to the workshop, I think he might be a bit of a challenge rolleyes.gif

Ray's away tonight he's had to dash down to see his Dad

We know that his Dad hasn't been feeling too good, but he and Ray's Mum have been telling us not to worry

We had a call from Ray's brother yesterday to let us know that he'd taken his Dad to the doctors and that they had discovered a black spot on his tongue and were we aware that his Dad has lost over 3 stone in less than 6wks :mecry:

His Dad will be having a biopsy next week and we are hoping that it's nothing to worry about.

I have had a civilized conversation with ex this evening, he rang me up out of the blue about some stuff, I'm a bit thrown (but not thrown enough to accept his invite to 'pop round for a drink tomorrow' ). I'm actually really  coz I got a Minke update and she sounds loads better than the last time I saw her but very :mecry: as I would love to see her but know it's best that I stay away.

possible casue is the "A" record (the bit that tells the world how to find the server) isnt being resolved correctly by whatever dns servers your isp uses. your router will query these in order to resolve ip addresses and then cahc the result for a short period of time. so if its prolnged then then issue is most likely with the resolutin of that A record.

this can be for one of three reasons (mainly).

first one is the DNS server where the website is hosted is misconfigured. depending on the error message being recieved it could be its being treated as a non authoriative source or that its just borked

the second The A Record hasnt propegated fully (it can take up to 48 hours for it to be known by the various big DNS servers)

the third is your ISPs dns servers are not picking it up correctly

fourth is the router isnt functioning correctly but if its prolonged and the same for otehr people then 1-3 are the most common causes. or it could be that your PC is caching the result incorrectly too.

to troubleshoot go to the dnsstuff website (http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools) and run some of the tools there

currently btw i am seeing a wordpress page

thank you kindly Mr P , changed the domain name servers via the router and it worked ( buggered if I really understood why but it worked )

I am currently having a whale of a time with wordpress , its rather good but I still have a lot to learn. Mind you if I consider what I have done today with domain registrations , hosting , uploading wordpress files , DNS doo dahs and shed loads of other non squirrel things I am rather chuffed to have got this far biggrin.gif
