Jazz Posted September 28, 2009 Report Share Posted September 28, 2009 Went back to the hospital yet again today to get my results...the first thing he said was "I'm sorry to tell you"...not a good start! Apparently I have a primary bone marrow disorder, which he needs to confer with colleagues about but which will probably be treated by a low dose chemotherapy tablet. I said how long will I need to take them and he said always! oh great. He also said that long term use of this can lead to leukaemia..oh great, it just keeps getting better! I have to go back to see him in a couple of weeks, when they will have conferred..but the bit I really didn't like was he told me to bring my husband with me. snow Posted September 28, 2009 Report Share Posted September 28, 2009 Suzeanna and one for Cheryl too Little did I know 4 weeks ago that I would soon be on first name terms with half a dozen vets, be making jokes about attending their Xmas party, be intimately familiar with greyhound leg fractures and their treatment, have learnt canine toe massage have introduced the entire animal hospital staff to the origins of Noggin The Nog, have gone back to driving a manual car on a daily basis (I miss my automatic soooo much) and now I'm learning about canine physiotherapy with lasers! Awful to hear things like that when you're on your own. Hope the appointment comes through quickly and the specialists are more positive about the prognosis. Thinking of you. Come and chat to us whenever you feel the need to get things off your chest. If you want to of course. Cheryl it sounds like you've done the right thing. Taken charge of your own life. It sounds a nice area where you've moved to and dog friendly. Hoping all of your troubles will soon be behind you and it all works out well for you. Gemstone Posted September 28, 2009 Report Share Posted September 28, 2009 Suzeanna Feel like death warmed up but am hoping to feel better tomorrow, I have booked to take my fav horse, Maddie , to the beach for the first time and will be gutted if I have to cancel it Danny was sent home sick from school again too and Matty's school rang to ask for permission to give him paracetamol. I am probably a bad mum for sending them to school and staying on the sofa all day myself apart from a quick dog walk and a visit to the post office for Sam Squirrel - at last!! We had a stall for Oldies Club at the Burns It's A Dogs Day Out event which was really good and we raised lots of money.
