"Does the EU really think fit and healthy people go out and buy these as a lifestyle choice?" did make me smile. I just had visions of us all using them rather then walking! Well I'd guess it's the fact that the vast majority of people who use mobility scooters are on benefits and can't afford any increase in prices or else they are supplied by charities who also can't afford a price increase. People using mobility scooters NEED them (unless you think public transport for the disabled is fantastic and would get a disabled person right to where they needed to be).
