They have found an issue with the way the reverse proxy connects to the servers the refuge is on. so hopefully once they fix this all will be well. ReikiAnge Posted April 9, 2009 Report Share Posted April 9, 2009 Have found the board really slow for the last hour or so, no "time-outs" until a few minutes ago, but taking ages to move to view new posts, look at a different thread, post a reply etc. Was trying to post a reply to a thread in doggie chat at 21:39 and got this message: Failed to Connect The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.therefuge.org.uk. Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection. * Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later. * Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection. * Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing. It was seriously slow from around 8.00 until I pizzed orf sometime after 9pm (sorry not very precise I know) I am getting really fed up of it. mole Posted April 12, 2009 Report Share Posted April 12, 2009 Not really very helpful, but the board is always slow for me. Compared to say, the Lurcherlink board, its snail-like. Sometimes its slower than others, but always its slow. Even in the middle of the night when popularity can't be the reason. To be honest, it has a lot to do with why I come here less, and post even less than that... Have to agree with Ruthi. It's slow everytime I try to get into it... just now took ages to get into site and then it took ages to get the graphic bits up. The board has been really quiet recently and IMO it's due to people not bothering with it anymore cos it's so slow. RHU which must have a fantastic amount of traffic is immediate for me (broadband).
