Raw for three dogs (Durham Animal Feeds) 17 year old girl is on Butcher's Tripe tinned with a bit of raw in it .... as she gets what she will eat.

Wish my local Morrisons would stock up on black pooh bags ... they shoot out the shop in about a week and then it takes them 3 months to get some more .... and no I can't stand nappie sacks as the stench of them (unused) gives me asthma.

As far as I'm aware they just take in strays now as they didn't have the room for boarders

This is cross posted, with permission, from another forum and was posted by a Rosedene volunteer OK the buildings may not be up to scratch ... but how many other pounds, homecheck, first vax, KC treatment, daily walking, vet medication etc? Am sure many other pound's buildings may not be up to scratch but don't do any of the other stuff ... which to my mind is probably more likely to mean that dogs cope better with the situation they are in than with Dogs Trust type buildings.

Agree with Mrs Mop about FRR ... a small rescue who go the extra mile to help Rotts ... they have taken RDR dogs in the past and I have transported for them.

This kennel, which is a pound, helps to get rescue places and homes for many Staff and Rotties which nobody else wants to know about and has a good volunteer base. Would like to hear what experienced DDA people think?

Find your home by pressing + - (zoom in zoom out) and the arrow buttons at the top. Then click the "add a placemark" icon ... blue upside down teardrop thingy ... this lets you move it to where your house is. Once the tear drop is in place on the left there is a listing headers in blue .... click on yours (which will be something like Placemark 3) and it will allow you to edit it .... write your name and description in the box and then click Save at the top of page.

Chondroitin and Manganese both necessary IMO I also use Fish Body Oil for all my dogs .... for myself as well .... as long as it has minimum EPA 180 DHA 120 they're all the same ... the cheapest place I can get them from is http://tinyurl.com/zipvitfishoil although Holland and Barrett sometimes have them on offer for really cheap prices. 1000mg per 20lb body weight or therapeutic dose 1000mg per 10lb body weight ... that is info from a good canine nutrition list ... however I would start a medium sized dog on 2000mg per day.

I am sick of trawling through Google to try and find a site that sells "different" fabric collars at reasonable prices Anybody know of one? I don't want Rogz or other fancy stuff .... just 3/4" normal plastic clip fastener but something a bit different for the fabric. On ebay the only ones I like are "from Hong Kong"

Vera Baird .. arrogant when I've seen her on TV ... and has been mentioned not the best place to take a "pup". Politicians ... "do as I say not as I do" IMO. In our village there are only a few people who deliberately don't pick up .. but I went to visit a friend in a town recently ... very "nice" area but high dog population ... and there was pooh everywhere ... pavements and kids playing field. This is an unworkable law because the dog wardens don't have the time or inclination to enforce it. This means that anti-dog feeling gets to such a pitch that the council's try to bring in more draconian laws like keeping all dogs on leads everywhere which effects the responsible owners as the pooh leavers don't take notice of laws anyway. I would say in these days of mobile phone cameras it would be quite easy to enforce the dog fouling law. However it doesn't help that the dog wardens department (in this area anyway) gives information on the complainant to the person committing the offence. I have personal knowledge of this through a friend who has a Lab (and was in the wrong) and somebody complained about her dog being pushy with her Yorkie and when my friend rang the dogwarden dept about it they told her who it was!!! So if you tell the dog warden about some big macho bloke letting his dog foul they tell him who it was so you get a fist in your face.
