owl
I did something silly this morning before I was awake enough to remember that I should never try to multitask. Got a bucket of water to top up fish tanks while I was waiting for presoaked porridge with ginger and cinnamon to heat up. Measured out some Stresscoat which is stuff you put in tap water to neutralise chlorine etc with added aloe vera which is good for fish scale health. And poured into the porridge instead of the bucket! Wondered whether I should throw my nice porridge away but decided to risk it. Anything which is safe for fish should be OK for humans. 2

suzeanna
Well, you'll be chlorine free with shiny scales if nothing else, Owl! Just be careful when you next bathe in case you have a sudden urge to submerge. Horrible here, pouring and blowing a gale too like your weather Jazz. I'm afraid Candy will have to wait for her Dad to take her out, he's got all the wet weather gear. (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

Yantan
"And now our next Mastermind contestant is Alicia. What is your specialist subject Alicia?" "The history and evolution of the sleeping bag". I woke up around 5am with a pounding headache and a general feeling of ickiness. I went to the bathroom and happened to look down into the hall where I saw little piles of poop. I ventured down to find it was even worse in the dining room. I picked up what I could but a lot of it wasn't particularly solid and the stuff in the hall had dried onto the cushion floor . I sprayed with carpet cleaner and floor cleaner and laid towels over the lot to try and sop it all up and prevent Archie from paddling through it. Ruby was off to London today and didn't have to set off until 9.15 from here so she had time to clean it all up with the use of the steam cleaner in the hall and taking a scrubbing brush to the dining room carpet. I went over the carpet with the carpet cleaner a bit later. Oh the joys having a senile old dog. Sweet!

eve
Storm Erik is here and it's been wet and wild and windy most of the day. Managed to get a few short walks in inbetween deluges. Dogs seem quite content to snuggle indoors. I feel the same lol. Still laughing at Owl - hope you enjoyed the porridge anyway. I only like porridge made the tradional way, with water and a pinch of salt. Can't eat a sweetened or milky version, just seems all wrong to me. But I do prefer savoury to sweet every time. I remember ordering French toast once before and it arrived sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. I was expecting it to be savoury and just couldn't eat a bite. That seems a right fiasco Jazz. Hope the actual op goes a lot more smoothly. Aw, Archie. Give the gorgeous old boy a gentle hug from me. Sounds like you and Ruby need one too after cleaning all that up, Yantan. Yantan
We had some really heavy rain this morning but it gave way to fine weather around lunchtime though there was a stiff wind blowing. It all settled down by mid afternoon so Storm Erik wasn't too bad here really. I will pass the hug on Eve
owl
I seem to have had no ill effects from the Stresscoat and still seem to be human. I am watching a programme about fish but would have done that anyway. I like "River Monsters". Storm Erik was severe this morning but had settled down by mid afternoon so we went to the reserve for a walk. Hope Archie settles tonight and you don't have any more cleaning up to do.
