EGAR
I woke up this morning with this on my arm: It is not a bruise but of deep crimson colour, the arm is slightly swollen but doesn't hurt, itch or impair me in any way. It seems to be deep under my skin, the skin itself is not raised. I did not have a fall etc nor do I have any allergies, well, apart from wasps. Any ideas? lazydaisy
No ideas, but I would get it checked out at the docs
blackmagic
have you had a bite on that arm/ hand? Redness up your arm can be poison spreading up it. I would definitely get it checked out.
EGAR
No, no bite, at least none that I can see. What worries me is that it didn't fade at all since this morning. If its still there Monday then I'll see the GP.

AnnS
Phone NHS direct for advice or pop into chemist for a word with pharmicist. Don't like the look of that. AnnS
smirnoff
A couple of things have come to my mind - both fairly innocuous but both needing treatment. I'm not going to say because I'm not a healthcare professional and don't want to put my foot in it. Both can be treated with anti-biotics or cream - both are remarkably common and I have seen cases where the skin looks like that. Don't fret but please do go to the doctor and get it sorted. Dizzycharm
I really wouldn't know but have seen exactly the same from basically heat rash, which was just put under cold water periodically over a day and mostly gone by the evening. But best to get checked by a professional
greys mum
Is it warm to touch? Could try taking some antihistamines and see if they help.
Ingrid
Ringworm comes to mind here, I've had it before, but please check with a doctor
ReikiAnge
Ringworm was my first thought but I've never seen it other than in photos and I thought Sarah would know if it was that Hope whatever it is, it goes away soon
owl
Doesn't look like ringworm to me. That usually starts with one or two patches, they are smaller and raised and itchy. Definitely get it looked at.
EGAR
I went to my GP this morning. he is stumped as it appears to be deep under the skin. No other symptoms, its not even hot, doesn't hurt and doesn't turn white when you poke it. It hasn't spread. No scratches on my hand or arm either. I've taken Arnica just in case but GP perscriped nothing and told me to come back Monday.
sparkle
If it is still there then that is different to what I have ever had if I get too hot/exercise too much I get a similar looking thing, basically veins coming to the surface to cool down ... hope yours is better soon though hun
EGAR
Still there, still same colour and hasn't spread. How very weird..
