KathyM
Do you have any more information on them?
Wendbert
There's a thread in the Urgent/Poundies section, but the info is limited
KathyM
Thanks Wendy, yeah, saw it after I posted the above but was wondering if there was info on gender/vaccs/neutering. I know there's not likely to be much more. Feel useless as we can't really do anything even with that info, but it might help someone else decide? blackmagic
Mmmm  Looking for money?  From what I have been told by someone who visited in December it needed more than a drainage system.

I know there's not likely to be much more. Feel useless as we can't really do anything even with that info, but it might help someone else decide?  Kathy:  Y12 - Ice  Akita X Male 2 years old Sable Microchipped. Very affectionate with people. Doesn't seem aggressive with other dogs, although this has not been thoroughly tested. A bit hand shy, Friends of Akita can do a full assessment if a rescue can take him I think, but they don't have space to take him themselves. **************************  Y2 - Leaf Dalmatian  Male  8-10 years  Apparently this boy was put in the pound this week knowing it is closing Staff say he has a bad leg, bad paw and a big growth. He was very quiet and needs a rescue to take him and have the lump looked at.
merledogs
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_yo...ire/7894340.stm This bit caught my eye : "The kennel has never put a dog to sleep". TBH I am gobsmacked by that remark  Not what I would call an "animal sanctuary" either. They should be done under Trades Description on that one
gremlin22
never put a dog to sleep....no cos thy get my local vets to do it. i suppose you can technically say you've never put a dog down so long as you don't put the needle in yourself.extremly misleading though. KathyM
We can overnight the dalmation here if necessary, can't offer more than that and don't have transport for him either way. Not much of an offer (I wish I could offer more) but it's there.
Rumpole
gobsmacked at that report especially as rescues assisting in removing dogs from there regularly post dogs about to be pts
tails4wagging
I just hope the council finds a better place very soon if not already. Â A friend who went there regularly to get dogs out texted me on hearing that they denied putting dogs to sleep said 'would she be prepared to go to a lie detector for that remark, I doubt it'. Mrs Mop
This bit caught my eye : "The kennel has never put a dog to sleep". TBH I am gobsmacked by that remark  Not what I would call an "animal sanctuary" either. They should be done under Trades Description on that one   I have emailed the BBC and Look North saying they are misleading the public by saying it is an animal sanctury, it is a pound. Also they don't pts the dogs, they take them to a vet to pts and this is misleading as well. I also suggested that when these places call themselves animal sancturies they should check to see if they are.

KathyM
Are these dogs sorted now?
Nettie
Apparently yes all the dogs are sorted, also heard though don't know the source that the kennels now have the money to complete the necessary new drainage works and so the closure is just temporary.
