  1. I have been having this conversation about pet ownership on another forum. This was a link. Interesting. http://www.opposingviews.com/questions/should-we-keep-pets
  2. Oh isnt she beautiful... *swoon*. She will be snapped up I am sure.
  3. There is an area along the foreshore at Lancing that is now divided into a walkway and a cycletrack, so you can be walking your dog/dogs safely of the lead or on an extended lead when suddenly a cyclist rushs past you from behind. No warning, no bell. Dogs along the path ,accidents waiting to happen. Crazy. I dont go there now for that reason. Why they just divided a path like that god knows. even without dogs you are in danger of being mowed down by a cyclist.
  4. Please consider ex battery farm hens for rehoming. They are destined for slaughter at 18 months old as in battery conditions they stop laying at 18 months. battery farmers have to pay slaughtermen to kill them as they are not for the food chain. Every year good hearted folks go in (legally) and take as many as they can on a tight schedule on the day they should go to slaughter. Last year in one rescue 3,000 chucks were rescued. They gain their feathers again and start to produce eggs again. Its lovely to see them free (usually bold) roaming around a garden eating worms and good food. My friend has rescued some and they have gone on to live another 4 to 5 yrs. One she rescued only had feathers on her head. But soon grew back some lovely feathers.
  5. After saying you cannot bond with her you go on to say: Its been lovely having her here and I do love her. Sorry throwing spanner in the works but if you love having her there and you love her then Why?. Once a dog (or any other animal) comes to live with me thats it they are there for life.
  6. Thats exactly what happened to my dad. He also had to have a post mortem . He was only 64. Even though its been 25yrs its still sad but time does heal. Try this for trees: http://www.woodland-trust.org.uk/getinvolved/index.htm
  7. Thinking of you both. Hope you like this. The life that I have is all that I have, And the life that I have is yours. The love that I have of the life that I have is yours and yours and yours. A sleep that I have, a rest I shall have, yet death will be but a pause. For the peace of my years, in the long green grass will be yours and yours and yours. Leo Marks (1940)
  8. Bless her sweet face, she has such gentle eyes.
  9. How sad, but she had a lovely day and passed away in her sleep. Take comfort in that.
  10. Oh bless her she is the sort I would take, but with three dogs I am unable. Bless her heart, her owner died and now through no fault of her own she hasnt found a forever home.
  11. So you agree with performing wild animals in circuses then K9ran?. I have demonstrated against this vile circus more than once and the owner physically assaulted my friend and due to police c*** up he was let off!! We ask the police to be there for our own safety not theirs. So regardless of what Martin Lacey and his crew say it is us demonstrators that need protection. His home town is Hull and they travel all over the country staying at a week ort two weeks at one ground then move on. Beast wagons too small as well. Wicked and evil. Trust Newark town to hold it there, they allow the fox hunting fraternity to meet there on boxing day. If you log onto Captive Animal Protection you can read all about this circus. There is no cruelty free way of training wild animals. Yes they say they love their animals but it is morally and ethically wrong to cage let alone, train wild animals to perform for public entertainment. This is the 21st century, what next, show deformed humans again?. The RSPCA's hands are tied, my friend who is an RSPCA inspector has had to go along to see the animals and by law they have to announce their visit to the circus so when he arrives to inspect the animals they are in a clean environment. They cannot make an unannounced visit. He hates to see it, but cannot do anything by law, because the animals are well fed and appear to be in good health.
  12. Ive recently changed my package with sky. Ive got now telephone (free for 3 months) then free after 6pm evenings and weekend. Broadband wireless (free for 3 months) and basic tv (which I had already) all three for £34.00 a month. Just going to pay BT for my landline rental. Thus saving £20 a month. Would like to buy a sky + box at £49 but cannot afford it at the moment.
  13. This just shows how vivisection on dogs for drugs/chemicals etc, is a false science.
  14. I bet her little dog is missing her?. Very sad.
