KathyM
He IS Dave, doesn't matter about the poll, it won't change him. That's wot he is. He is a Dave. He isn't a Dooley or a Dildo - he IS Dave. It has to be one of the best dog names ever (and the Trigger connection makes me laugh). Mel - I had an umbrella called Nigel. Best damn umbrella I ever had. Nigel is my reserve choice.

suzeanna
Going by the expression on his face in the pic, I'd say Dole...as short for doleful...but anything has to be better than Dave! unless you are a conservative voter I suppose. Yantan
No he can't be Dave coz that's a spaniels name. I know this as fact. My brother's spaniel was Dave. It doesn't suit a labrador. (do you see the logic ) I like Dooley but haven't voted yet as I am pondering on: Declan and Diognes ( NO! scrap that. I have just looked it up on Google. It's not a fitting name for a noble boy like Dooley) and Dermott and Darren and Dairmuid and Dyson (just in case he has a voracious appetite for hoovering up any food he finds) And that completes the suggestions from the Keswick branch of the Refuge Marion

BeadyP
I think the name Dave should win, however to edge my bets,i've thought of some d names: Delta, Dazzle, Dawdle Dart Dastardly Dan Disco Ditto (I like that one cos it reminds me of the film Ghost, and it meant I love you)

Bert & Dudley the labradors has a nice ring to it. Digby Danny

I also like Ernie and Cyril. If it has to begin with a D go for Doug Doug the dog makes e laff
