  2. Hi Laura Just seen your post. Sending you and Tess a big and get well soon wishes for Tess. xx
  3. Hi I am currently fostering the lovely Sky through Croydon Animal Samaritans and thought I would put her on the Refuge to see if I can increase her chances of finding a lovely new home This is the brief description and photos of her that will be going on their website but I am happy to have a chat with anyone who is interested to give more details. Please pm me if you are and we can take things from there. Marie-Claire Sky is a petite and pretty 5 year old crossbreed bitch who needs a new home through no fault of her own. She is intelligent, characterful, knows some basic commands and is housetrained. She is also ball mad and we are looking for an owner who is prepared to indulge her in her favourite pastime. However she also settles well and is happy to snuggle up against you on the sofa and sleep. Sky enjoys her walks, as long as there is some ball action included, but can be nervous of meeting new dogs. We have been told she is scared of cats but this has not been tested yet while in our care. As she has been teased by young children in the past, we feel a home with children aged 8+ would be best. Her ideal home would also have someone who is home a lot of the time and who can give her the care and attention she deserves. Sky has been micro-chipped, spayed, wormed and treated against fleas. Photos to follow - please come back and look, she really is very pretty!
  4. So sorry to hear about Dennis, sending you at this sad time.
  5. Laura, hes beautiful, well done you for getting stuck in yet again and helping out another animal in need (hopefully your lodger will be a bit happier about a cat in the house instead of another dog!). I'll put the word out around my area and see if anyone can help. M-C x
  6. Phoenyx and Happylittlegreensquirrel thank you for your replies:flowers:
  7. Hi I know I'm not in London but Croydon is only 20 mins by train from Victoria so depending on where she lives, I have a few events coming up that we will be attending on behalf of the Oldies Club. She would be more than welcome to come and help if she would be interested.
  8. Laura, really sorry to hear you might be out of a job soon. What a worrying time for you and your colleagues and awful that such vital services are being cut. Sending you and lots of positive vibes your way. Marie-Claire x
  9. Thank you for the link, it looks very comprehensive. Also the suggestion about affiliating with another existing charity or organisation is an excellent idea. The person that I've been asked to speak to is a young, but very enthusiastic individual so this may be an ideal compromise that would enable her to get involved while avoiding what seems to be a very complicated and intricate process.
  10. Hi As one of the Oldies Club Regional Co-ordinators I have been asked for my advice on fundraising for a possible new charity/cause. This I can do fairly easily. However I would like some general advice and tips (without going into too much detail as I understand it can be quite complicated) that I can pass on regarding how to go about actually setting up a charity, the main factors and costs involved and possible alternative ways to set up a "fundraising group/organisation" for a specific cause, that may be simpler? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  11. Laura, All Dogs Matter in London is another one you could try - www.alldogsmatter.co.uk . Good luck, Sky looks a lovely girl.

  17. Hi Just wanted to add that a friend of mine was in a similar situation recently. Her dog escaped from the house and nipped a neighbour who reported her to the police. The neighbour also lied and added that her dog had attacked another dog which wasn't even remotely true. The police did get in touch with my friend, but this seemed to be more a formality than anything else and they didn't take it any further and were satisfied that she was taking appropriate steps to manage her dogs behaviour and this was a one off.
  18. Lovely pictures of Duncan and Trixie enjoying themselves. Every penny helps and it sounds as though you spread the word quite a lot as well so you should pat yourself on the back for your efforts
  19. Hi Kathy, Sorry I can't offer a home for Dharma however I will keep my eyes and ears open just in case I hear of any suitable and potential homes. Also just wanted to say I'm sorry you're not having much luck and feeling so frustrated but keeping my fingers crossed for you and sending lots of good luck vibes your way.
