  1. Sleep tight Ash bunny, and enjoy those new pastures with your old pals. So sorry, but you were brave today for her.
  2. We usually walk the dogs after dark down the lane. We have a flashing blinkie on Wolfie which works quite well, and always carry torches. Quite often we walk past steamed up cars. One day in the summer we walked pasta car and its springs were squeaking and the car was not being driven, if you see what I mean! That particular evening we had my youngest two children with us as well, and it didn't go unnoticed!
  3. I cannot believe how you summoned the strength to give it back. Well done you - I think! I am so glad that you were not more injured. That will have shaken you up I am sure. But I hope that you do manage to get the police to look into it, and then they may piece it together with other incidents that may have happened recently. Please take care, and rest for now.
  4. We have two combi Microwaves (large family), one is a Panasonic NN-A873S, and the other is an LG Solardom. I prefer the Solardom to the Panasonic, because it is bigger. I cook on two levels most nights, so space is important. I get good results with roast potatoes with the LG and Panasonic, but prefer to do jacket potatoes in the Panasonic on what they call "combination", using microwaves and normal oven mode at the same time. It is a way of cooking a fair amount of jacket potatoes reasonably quickly. Our main oven is like an Aga, it is called a Sandyford, the Sherlock model, but it makes our well insulated house get too hot, and I tend to use it on a Sunday for our roast. The turntable motor is not "man enough" on the LG for large heavy trays, and we have had to fit a new one more than once, which we have purchased locally at one of these electrical spare shops for about £16.00. Having said that, I find it tricky to get the turntable to stay in place on the Panasonic, it just doesn't sit deep enough, and go on with a positive manner. A few years ago we had a microwave engineer to come and fix one of ours, and he then rated the Sharp make as a good choice. You have done the right thing to ask the folks on here, I usually cook for about 7 people most evenings, so I need a good oven, and get into a pickle if they go wrong.
  5. Triple congratulations! That's for giving a home for life for two dogs, and also for fostering them and bringing them through their poorlyness! Not surprised they became part of the family though!
  6. Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures. They really do look content and cosy.
  7. So sorry to hear your sad news. I am sure you will be there to help them when they need it.
  8. See there you go - I have just received this text in an email from my son in San Francisco! though my new laptop hard drive died again, but my old laptop is being trusty as ever. (But I'll try getting my hands on a solid state hard disk instead!) Thanks Dell! I should say however, that the his one, was purchased from Ebay (2nd hand) and that one is a Dell!
  9. So there is no hope for us then with two Dell laptops purchased from PC World!
  10. We had a terrible time with PC World, and we even took out insurance to cover any mishaps. The whole of the summer holidays and even when she had returned to school, my daughter had no working computer. We purchased 2 identical Dell laptops, apart from the colour of the top of them. She dropped hers and the engineer came out to fix it, and the service was great, he even fixed my son's (bought from Ebay) laptop that he dropped before, and after undoing a couple of screws and pushing something back that needed realigning, fastened it back together and bingo, fixed. I gave him a couple of veggie chews for his new puppy, and was very grateful. A couple of weeks later, she did it again, dropped it, and landed on the charger, which caused much more damage. We were told to ring this number and that, we were told that the laptop was registered to my eldest son (who is in Japan), and we spent a fortune on telephone calls mostly 087 numbers. We were nearly crying with frustration. In the end they said they would send a man to collect it, and send it away for repair, but that didn't happen until we got fed up, and kept badgering the same person at our local store, and eventually took it back there yet again. Eventually a man came to collect it, he came three times at lease, telling us he charges them about £18.00 every time he comes, whether he takes it or not. We told him each time that we had returned it to the shop, and he knew that was the position every time he came, but hey, he was still getting the money. Eventually they agreed to replace, it but not with the same model, as computers move on every few weeks these days, and they could let us have one if we agreed to pay about £100 more, as it had 1 gig more RAM, (a bit faster). What turned into a supposed 5 day repair went on for weeks and weeks. In the end they did let us have a more expensive computer valued nearer £700 in place of the £400 one. We refused to pay out on any more insurance. The other Dell went wrong for my son whilst he was and still is, in San Francisco, which is not good as he uses his all the time for developing his computer business. Perhaps we were just unlucky, with Dell as a brand and their service.
  11. I am so sorry to hear your sad news, especially at this time of year.
  12. There is never a preferred time, but it does seem harder at this time of year when families are meant to be together. You obviously were prepared for her Christmas too, and will be so shocked by this sudden loss. I know you will be strong and try to support your husband too, and other members of her family. Please take care.
  13. I am really really sorry to hear about your lovely puss.
  14. Marge I was going to offer to take him to the vets if you had wanted me to, so you didn't lose time from work. But now I am glad you were with him, I couldn't have coped with telling you that sort of complex information. I am really sorry, and if you do need me to doggy sit him or just a chat, you know where I am. Perhaps things will be a little clearer at his next appointment. Spike come on and stop scaring your Mum!

  20. I am sorry to hear about your sad and sudden loss of a dearly loved pet. You must be in shock. Take it easy over the next few days, and give some extra cuddles to your other little one who will be missing him too.
  21. He certainly had a determined character. Plus a good heart and an animal lover. So sorry for all those that knew him, I hope he didn't suffer long.
