eve
I don't know of it's the same across the country Yantan but Richard has his for 3 years between renewals. He doesn't need a medical up here but did when he was in Enfield, though not in Barnet which is only the next borough along the road.

eve
Jazz, can you actually afford to have her knees done? Sorry if that sounds presumptious, I don't mean it to but don't want you to get yourself in financial trouble. Sorry, I'll stop sticking my nose in xx
griff
Why does the dog need the supervet?? I know 2 people who have met him and he is really not all that... everyone needs to remember, the guys a trained actor...he is lovely when things go right but as soon as things go wrong...he blanks you! My dog trainer took her friend with her gsd....money no object but she decided a local orthopaedic specialist was better....I don't even bother with orthopaedic specialist anymore for my dogs and both are insured, i use my local vet for cruciates and if/ when Deagan needs her patella doing they will do it. No clue why that supervet insists on a CT scan for a cruciate repair or tplo.... it's an unnecessary expense. Rant over, as you may guess I don't like the fella
Jazz
she hasn't had a yorkie before, she has staffies. she rescued her off gumtree. her vet said she needs her slipping knees done by a 'big vet' like noel. I said my vet can do them, he did jerrys. and a lot of yorkies have slipping knees. my vet charges nothing like noel. I looked on his website. its £210 just for a consultation! and my vet gives me a discount for the rescues. because I don't drink, smoke or go out, money is there. my friend used noel before he was on the telly. hes good and caring, but if a local vet can do it, why pay that much? suzeanna
When we had poms one had his patellas done by a local vet who did a good job. Griff, I've got the book written by Noel, he's totally a trained vet though he has done acting. Edited September 14, 2019 by suzeanna

Yantan
When my friends puppy, a Border terrier, got run over her back legs were smashed to bits. Our vet wouldn't touch her. He said the repairs needed were way above his ability. He referred my friend to The Royal Dick vet hospital just outside Edinburgh. I drove them up and I have to say I was very impressed with the place and the vet who saw us all. He was a professor of animal surgery and what a great job he did in virtually rebuilding the back legs. The pup was only 10 months old and her bones were tiny. I'm pleased to say she's still going strong at 14 years of age. That's were I'll be heading if any future dog of mine needs specialist care. Jazz
I certainly wouldn't use the specialist vets near here. they loused up 2 operations, had to do them again and charged me for them! then I lost Trudy because of it. they still hastled me 3 months after losing her for more money. I threatened him id come down there if he rung again. he left me alone ive messaged the woman already. told her ive bought steps, and getting a price off my vet

If I am right the sister used to post about how useless her husband but in a very amusing way. She used to have me in hysterics
